This is a video from “Hisakazu Noguchi The Big Band with BREEZE,” held at the Kawasaki City Art Center on June 8, 2012.
The performance is by the members of “Shinyuri Jazz Square.” The playing is excellent, and even with Japanese lyrics, the singing is jazzy and incredibly cool.

Hachimitsu’s pet dog is being made to dance the Soran Bushi.
It looks a bit confused, but without running away or resisting (though it might not be thrilled…), the way it lets its owner do as they please is so cute it makes you laugh.
Some people comment that it’s a little pitiful, though.

We’re performing the Hokkaido folk song “Soran Bushi” with brass instruments and percussion.
The sheet music is from Music Eight, which every wind ensemble player knows.
Since the opening is layered and builds up, it actually takes solid technique to put together well—even with Music Eight’s arrangement.
