Amiga MiaAlejandro Sanz

Alejandro Sanz is famous for a musical style that centers on pop while lightly mixing in flamenco elements.
He’s also well known for his close friendship with Niña Pastori.
His musical approach falls under the genre of nuevo flamenco, but because the pop elements are stronger, I think he’s very accessible even for those not used to listening to flamenco.
He’s been commercially successful as well, having won the Latin Grammy Awards five times.
He’s an exceptionally catchy artist, so be sure to check him out!
Juro QueRosalia

Rosalía is an artist who enjoys strong support from all over the world.
Her musical style is highly distinctive: she sings a unique form of nuevo flamenco that blends flamenco with electronic sounds.
Because her music is unlike anything else, many listeners are likely to be struck by it.
Her songs convey a deep respect for flamenco, and she sometimes performs as a cantaora as well.
Her voice is on the higher, lighter side, so she may not be the type of cantaora who captivates purely through vocal power, but she makes up for it with an emotionally expressive singing style.
ProblemaKetama

Ketama, the legendary band that represents Spain.
They are the group that stirred a new wind in flamenco.
Before they arrived, flamenco was largely traditional.
Ketama created a brand-new style that hadn’t existed before, called “Nuevo Flamenco,” by blending R&B, jazz, and other genres into flamenco.
Although they initially faced heavy criticism from Spaniards who valued tradition, they are now respected by many artists as pioneers of Nuevo Flamenco.
Their taste is incredibly sophisticated, so definitely check them out!
Vete que te quieroBuika

Buika is an authentic artist from the island of Mallorca.
She captivates with a unique musicality that blends flamenco with soul, R&B, and even jazz and reggae.
Her greatest strength is, above all, her vocal prowess.
Beyond sheer volume and technique, she possesses astounding expressive power.
Her talent would unquestionably rank among the top three vocalists in the world.
In every respect—vocal runs, power, expressiveness, and musical sensibility—she is perfect: a true artist.
En Aranjuez con tu AmorJosé Carreras

José Carreras, one of the members of The Three Tenors, is a great tenor representing Spain.
Early in his career, partly due to his small stature, he was not considered a particularly strong tenor.
He originally specialized in the lyric tenor repertoire, but after he began challenging himself with spinto singing, his projection and high notes became more stable.
His earnest way of living comes through in his voice, and many listeners find his vocals deeply moving.
Be sure to check him out!
Él no soy yoBlas Cantó

Blas Cantó from Spain is a highly skilled artist who shines in the world of pop music.
He released his debut album, Complicado, in September 2018, reaching number one on the Spanish albums chart.
In 2017, he won the Spanish version of Your Face Sounds Familiar, showcasing his talent across multiple fields.
Known for emotionally rich lyrics and melodic sound, he has attempted the Eurovision Song Contest twice.
Having been close to music since childhood, Blas won a regional contest at the age of eight.
With his polished pop sound and powerful vocals, he’s recommended for anyone seeking music that truly resonates.
Ciudad De PapelMalú

If you love extremely husky voices, I highly recommend the artist Malú.
Her voice is so husky it feels like it might fade away, giving her a uniquely atmospheric presence.
She also has years of experience as a judge on La Voz, the Latin version of The Voice.
While she doesn’t perform as a cantaora, she has solid cante skills as an artist.
Early in her career she was marketed more like an idol, but as she got older she shifted toward a more artist-driven path.
Be sure to check her out!
