Songs that start with 'Vu'. For shiritori, karaoke, and playlist selection.
In this article, I’ll be introducing lots of Vocaloid songs whose titles start with the katakana “ヴ.”
When it comes to words starting with “ヴ” that might be used in song titles, examples include “Venus” (ヴィーナス), “Vampire” (ヴァンパイア), and “Vintage” (ヴィンテージ).
If you’re familiar with plenty of Japanese songs, a few tracks probably came to mind as soon as you saw these words.
This time, I’ve selected a wide range—from famous hits to hidden gems—so please enjoy discovering both classics and songs you might not know yet.
Feel free to use this as inspiration for shiritori with song titles, as well as for choosing tracks for karaoke or your playlists.

vaporNatsuko Nisshoku

“Vapor” was written as the theme song for the film “Terorun to Runrun,” which was featured at the Hiroshima International Film Festival and created a buzz at more than 40 film festivals in Japan and abroad.
The song appears on the second full album “Permafrost,” released in 2019, and expresses inexpressible emotions and feelings through images of drizzle and raindrops.
You can sense Natsuko Nisshoku’s impressions from watching the film during the songwriting process in the poignant piano tones and lyrical vocals.
Be sure to listen to the song together with the film!
VitaHiiragi Kirai

That use of sound… it’s irresistible, isn’t it? This piece is by Hiiragi Kirai, a Vocaloid producer known for darker styles, released in 2022.
It’s a track provided to Gero, a singer who’s also active as a YouTuber.
You get pulled in by the mysterious arrangement that feels both fast-paced and weighty.
And the technique of shifting the beat in the chorus is nothing short of masterful.
It’s also a song that really invites lyric interpretation!
Vanitasblue squirrel

This is the sixth Vocaloid track by Aogurisu, who began working as a Vocaloid producer in April 2022 and achieved Hall of Fame status within the same month.
Entered in the VocaColle 2022 Spring TOP100, it’s a track whose opening captivates the ear with an ominous melody and a mysterious atmosphere.
The arrangement, which brings its dark melody to the forefront, and the dizzyingly evolving ensemble have a way of drawing you into its world before you realize it.
With trap-tinged sounds and dynamic shifts that reflect the evolution and expansion of Vocaloid music, it’s an emotional number.
Ver Aile: In the Blank MomentMALICE MIZER

MALICE MIZER is a band that incorporates a medieval Europe-like worldview and classical music into rock, with an uncompromising focus on visuals and performance.
Gackt, who is now well-known from variety shows, once served as their vocalist.
A band that pursued visuals to this extent has never been seen before or since.
Vandits!!!avant-garde

I always thought they were purely cute, but this song has a pop-punk vibe, and with the “oi” chants, is it Oi! punk? Also, the song is short, and another surprise is that they’re currently a duo.
I hope they keep it up.

VenusNanahoshi Orchestra

The exotic melody paired with a glossy vocal is so cool! It’s a track by Nanahoshi Orchestra, released in June 2024.
It drew attention for being chosen as the theme song for “Hatsune Miku Symphony 2024.” Its appeal lies in the dramatic, grand sound that highlights the powerful vocal tone.
As you listen, it strangely feels like turning the pages of a book that unfolds a story, one by one.
It’s a wonderfully crafted Vocaloid song that fuses elements of electronica, symphonic pop, and rock, with meticulous attention to detail.
