Released in June 1982, this is Survivor’s fifth single, included on their third studio album, Eye of the Tiger, which was released the same month.
It was also used as the theme song for the film Rocky III, released the same year, and is a highly recognized track in Japan as well.
The lyrics convey the message of getting back up no matter how many times you’re knocked down and overcoming yourself, serving as an anthem that, like the movie, encourages you not to throw away your chances.
