PUSH 2 STARTTyla

This is a track by Tyla, the South African artist who drew global attention with her 2024 Grammy win.

Featured on the deluxe edition Tyla+, an expansion of the acclaimed album Tyla, the song explores equality in romantic relationships.

With lyrics that tell a partner, “If we’re going to start something, show your worth through actions,” the confident protagonist comes vividly to life.

Its cool, smooth sound with Amapiano influences is perfect for a summer evening drive.

Maybe the secret to the best relationships is lifting each other up.

Why not take a positive step forward, believing in your own worth, while listening to this track?

TOUCHkeshi

If you’re looking for chill R&B by a male singer with a romantic, modern sense of ennui, you should definitely check out keshi.

The Vietnamese American singer-songwriter from Houston, Texas, released his debut album GABRIEL in April 2022, which achieved the highest first-week sales of any debut album released that year at the time, earning him both commercial success and critical acclaim.

His elegant vocals are truly alluring, and while his core is contemporary R&B, he makes extensive use of live acoustic guitar.

The cool, ennui-tinged, introspective tracks are perfect for setting the mood as background music for a nighttime drive with your partner.

The song being introduced here, TOUCH, is a romantic and beautiful track from the aforementioned album, featuring a minimal piano motif.

At the same time, its lingering melancholy makes it great for a solo drive as well.

Born in 2001 and based in London, singer-songwriter and producer PinkPantheress rose to prominence in Japan after taking the top spot in the BBC’s annually anticipated “Sound of 2022,” a list of up-and-coming artists.

While still a university student, she posted original songs on TikTok and scored a viral hit with “Break It Off,” which boldly samples drum and bass artist Adam F’s classic “Circles.” Her fresh, new-generation sensibility has earned high praise not only in the UK but also in the United States.

This time, I’d like to introduce “Where you are,” a track she released in April 2022.

Built around clean-toned, indie rock-style guitar phrases, the finely chopped beat functions less as a club driver and more as a way to create a languid, wistful atmosphere—very stylish indeed.

The guest vocals from Willow—Will Smith’s daughter and a popular artist of the same generation as PinkPantheress—fit perfectly as well.

Chase Atlantic, the Australian trio fusing alternative R&B with rock and trap, are drawing attention with their distinctive dark aesthetic.

Openly influenced by The Weeknd and The 1975, they released a new single in August 2025.

Intertwining dreamy, weightless melodies with hypnotic beats, the sound feels quintessentially them.

This work vividly portrays struggles with mental health and an inner turmoil like drowning in a bottomless pool, striking deeply at the listener’s heart.

Overcoming the hardship of losing their production data, they completed the acclaimed masterpiece LOST IN HEAVEN; this new release further deepens that world, making it a perfect listen for late-night solitude and contemplation.

CutieCOIN

Coin is a synth-pop band from Nashville, USA, who made their first visit to Japan at Summer Sonic in 2019.

Despite their funny band name, their songs strike a perfect balance between polished pop craftsmanship and an indie, handmade feel—making their sound accessible even to newcomers to Western music.

In April 2022, they released their fourth album, Uncanny Valley, and the track Cutie, introduced here, was put out as its lead single.

The up-tempo, danceable beat and irresistibly catchy melody are as strong as ever, and with playful embellishments and stylish mid-song guitar chopping, it’s a dancefloor-ready killer tune.

Of course, you shouldn’t dance while driving, but it’s perfect as in-car BGM when you want to lift your mood.

If you’re looking for driving music that’s stylish yet lets you savor a deep musical flavor, I highly recommend B-Side, born from the collaboration between Leon Bridges—one of the leading contemporary soul/R&B singer-songwriters—and the trio Khruangbin, famed for their mysterious aura and exotically scented funk.

It’s the lead track from their 2022 collaborative EP Texas Moon, and its soulful melodies and psychedelic grooves create a sound you won’t find elsewhere.

Different from radio-friendly, easy listening, its truly deep allure is irresistible—and once you’re hooked, there’s no getting out.

It’s the kind of track that makes you want to drive through an endless stretch of open desert, soundtracked by the remarkable chemistry of these two talents.

Rosalía, the Spanish artist who garnered attention with her track “Lo Vas A Olvidar” alongside none other than Billie Eilish—known for rarely collaborating with other artists—and who has been highly praised by many big-name musicians, wields a unique style that fuses traditional flamenco with contemporary pop.

Her third album, Motomami, released in March 2022, has been a major talking point in Japan as well, especially among dedicated Western music fans.

With several song titles in Japanese and a sound inspired not only by her Spanish roots but also by Eastern cultures—particularly Japan—Rosalía’s exceptionally distinctive music is something you should experience at least once.

Among her tracks, “La Fama,” a collaboration with The Weeknd, incorporates bachata, a genre originating in the Dominican Republic.

It’s a song that blends a Latin flavor with a thoroughly modern and stylish feel, making it a perfect accent for your driving playlist—be sure to add it!
