fire workKaty Perry

Katy Perry sang gospel at church when she was little.
Even after becoming a singer, her overwhelming vocal power, honed through gospel, is one of her strengths.
The song I’m introducing, Firework, is a motivational anthem I want people who are struggling to hear.
Its elegant, mid-tempo feel also makes it a good fit for children’s dance routines.
Since “firework” means hanabi in Japanese, it would be great for the kids dancing to wear brightly colored costumes like fireworks.
TiK ToKKe$ha

When it comes to classic dance songs, Kesha’s “TiK ToK” definitely comes to mind! Released in 2009, “TiK ToK” is the track that introduced Kesha to the world as a wild, untamed diva.
Her distinctive vocals and rap-like delivery are highly recognizable and stick in your head.
The beat is cool, yet the overall vibe of the song is bright and energetic.
There are tons of videos of people dancing to this track, so be sure to check them out for inspiration!
SeptemberEarth, Wind & Fire

It’s a nostalgic signature song by Earth, Wind & Fire released in 1978.
Just hearing the opening rhythm and trumpet, anyone can recognize this famous track.
For many in our parents’ generation, it was such a hit that hearing it at their kids’ school events can be quite moving.
Its exciting, anticipation-filled sound makes you feel like your body starts moving on its own—a tune that’s not only beloved by adults but also easy for children to enjoy.

SOSRihanna

This is a song released in 2006 by Rihanna, the songstress from Barbados.
Many people were captivated by the youthful freshness in her sexy vocals when she was still in her late teens, and it’s known in Japan as one of her signature tracks.
With its catchy melody, this dance-pop song makes it easy for even children to groove to the rhythm and tempo.
Hot N ColdKaty Perry

Upbeat pop songs are one of Katy’s specialties.
“Hot N Cold” is a song about a moody, contrary lover.
While Katy usually sings with a handheld microphone, for this song she switches to a headset during live performances so she can use the stage more and incorporate light dance moves.
Since it’s a bright pop tune, kids could wear colorful costumes and perform a tightly synchronized dance during the chorus to really grab attention.
SugarMaroon 5

With its sweet vocals and slightly hazy sound, this romantic track is “Sugar.” It was released in 2015 by the American pop band Maroon 5.
It’s a stylish, sugary love song that compares love to sugar, and it’s also a wedding classic.
Unlike other staple dance tracks, this song isn’t particularly fast in tempo.
That’s why even younger children can enjoy learning the choreography.
It’s perfect not only for dance recitals but also for school performances.
Cake By The OceanDNCE

DNCE from the United States is a rock band, but they have many dance tunes, making them perfect if you want to dance in a stylish, pop way.
Cake By The Ocean, as the title suggests, is a fun piece with a comical performance of throwing cakes by the ocean.
The groove created by the bass and drum rhythm section is really great.
The tempo isn’t fast, so depending on the choreography, even kids could dance to it.
Let’s dance in style with surf-inspired outfits that evoke the American West Coast!
