Western songs roundup with titles that start with numbers (91–100)
20 Msec.Ryuichi Sakamoto

An ambient electronica track composed by our very own Professor Sakamoto.
The unstable noises sprinkled here and there within the beautiful, airy melodies so characteristic of Sakamoto feel delightful.
It’s curious how, despite being almost all single notes, every sound comes together as one.
91 FlexSerious Klein

Rapper Serious Klein, who is based in Germany.
Influenced by soul, funk, and trap, he describes his own sound as “Art Rap.” Be sure to check out this video where he’s dressed head-to-toe in red.
He says “Ninety-one, flexin’,” but it amusingly sounds like “Naniwa~flexin’” in Japanese.
100 Days, 100 NightsSharon Jones & The Dap-Kings

A track by the American funk band Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings from their self-titled album released in 2007.
The song, which incorporates elements of 1960s funk and Afrobeat, was used in a commercial for Fitbit, an American fitness device company.
808Suchmos

Suchmos has an ultra-stylish, urban sound.
This release is a dance track with a silky, gliding bassline that feels great.
It’s also tied in with a Honda commercial, and the vibe of the song is perfect for a drive, isn’t it? After one listen, you might find yourself itching to get behind the wheel.
Just be mindful of your speed when you’re driving!
99TOTO

Included on Toto’s second album, Hydra.
Released in 1979.
This work is modeled after George Lucas’s 1971 sci-fi film THX 1138, eight years prior to its release, and its seemingly bland title takes on a deeper meaning through the film.
40 Boys in 40 NightsThe Donnas

A song about sexual conquest on the street.
It is included on the American hard rock band The Donnas’ fourth album, The Donnas Turn 21, released in 2001.
This album marks their shift from their earlier pop-punk sound to a more hard rock sound.
5 minutes (ft. Procussions)The Sound Providers

Even within hip-hop, there’s a style—or perhaps a genre—that fits perfectly with fashionable neighborhoods like Paris or Daikanyama.
That would be jazzy hip-hop, which enjoys enduring popularity.
A representative group is The Sound Providers, whose light rap blended with jazz is pleasantly easy on the ears.
