I Am WomanHelen Reddy

This is “I Am Woman,” sung by Australia’s Helen Reddy, which became a huge hit in 1972.
Declaring loud and clear, “I am woman, I am strong,” the song was strongly embraced by women of the time.
With its powerful vocals and lyrics, it’s a track that still feels empowering even today!
I Want You BackThe Jackson 5

This is a signature song by the Jackson 5, released in January 1970 and which reached number one on the U.
S.
charts.
The lead vocal is, of course, Michael Jackson, who was 11 years old at the time.
In April of the same year, the Jackson 5 also produced another big hit, ABC.
You’ve Got a FriendJames Taylor

It’s a song loved as a timeless classic, not just from the ’70s.
While the songwriter Carole King has performed it herself, it’s more widely known as a hit by James Taylor.
In 1971, it reached number one on the U.
S.
charts.
I Can See Clearly NowJohnnyNash

This is “I Can See Clearly Now” by Jimmy Cliff, a reggae singer from Jamaica.
It’s famous as the theme song for the bobsleigh film Cool Runnings, but it was originally included on an album by Johnny Nash, who helped bring reggae music to the world.
The song gradually caught on from the late 1960s and became a huge hit.
It’s a refreshing track that brightens the heart.
Pop MuzikM

The techno-pop-style sound, as if it predicted the music of the coming 1980s, is very striking.
It was a number that reached No.
1 on the U.
S.
charts in 1979, but later there was talk that the hit song “Ghostbusters” was essentially a rehash of this track.
(Bang A Gong) Get It OnT-REX

T.
Rex, led by Marc Bolan, churned out numerous hit songs in the 1970s.
Among them, the most famous is Get It On.
In the 1980s, The Power Station covered it and turned it into a hit again.
Incidentally, the original T.
Rex version reached No.
10 on the U.
S.
charts in 1972, while The Power Station peaked at No.
9 in 1985, surpassing the original.
Marquee MoonTelevision

Catchy guitar melodies and a laid-back rhythm.
Each track runs about 10 minutes, which is on the longer side, but it’s rock you can gently sway to.
They even played at Fuji Rock in 2002, which makes them feel a bit familiar.
It seems there are also tracks recorded by Brian Eno, so if you’re interested, try looking them up.
