While he’s floundering in his job hunt as a university student, Okudera-senpai comes to see Taki for the first time in a while.

Taki has grown a bit more mature since those feelings back then.

When he sees the ring gleaming on her ring finger, his heart seems to react differently than before.

The melody is bittersweet, yet you can sense Taki’s growth.

The slightly clashing dissonance woven into the flowing piano line feels like it expresses Taki’s life itself.

The waterfall that evokes memoriesRADWIMPS

Your Name - Taki Who Awakens Memories (Kioku wo Yobiokosu Taki)
Taki and RADWIMPS that evoke memories

Taki can no longer swap places with Mitsuha, and his memories gradually begin to fade.

This is the scene where he tries to go see Mitsuha, tracing the memories of Itomori that aren’t written in the notebook.

As he desperately tries to remember and sketch the townscape, Taki’s anxiety intersects with his desire to believe in something, and yet he can’t help needing to be sure—those emotions come through in the music.

Theme of Senpai OkuderaRADWIMPS

It’s the scene where Okudera-senpai’s skirt gets torn, and Mitsuha—who has switched bodies with Taki—fixes it for her.

Seeing how easily Mitsuha, who’s good at sewing, mends it, Okudera-senpai is surprised.

The acoustic tone conveys a blend of three elements: Okudera-senpai as a stylish city woman and admirable upperclassman, Mitsuha’s slight sense of yearning toward her, and above all, the fact that she’s the object of Taki’s unrequited crush—all interwoven with Okudera-senpai’s beauty.

Mitsuha's commute to schoolRADWIMPS

This is a scene of Mitsuha on her way to school.

It depicts the Itomori scenery, and you can see the lively and cheerful Mitsuha enjoying her everyday life in the countryside.

It’s a heartwarming scene that also conveys her personality and her longing for the city.

The acoustic guitar by Yojiro Noda plays along, creating a fun, soothing sound that heals the heart.

Itomori High SchoolRADWIMPS

This is a scene of Mitsuha going about her ordinary days at Itomori High School.

The lightly bouncing piano sound really reflects her personality, doesn’t it? You can feel the simple, joyful school life.

It’s the root of her happiness.

It seems like the kind of song that would commonly play in a scene like this, but it’s a little different—that’s the charm of RADWIMPS.

Hida ExplorationRADWIMPS

Your Name - Hida Exploration
Hida Expedition RADWIMPS

This plays during the scene where he heads to Hida, relying on a drawing he made from memory, to search for Mitsuha.

He came here to check something, but there are also some lighthearted, slightly goofy moments that make you chuckle and reveal Taki’s personality.

You can even feel how delicious the Takayama ramen is (lol).

It’s a fun piano piece that lets you catch your breath for a bit.
