[2025] A Compilation of Anisong Duets [Male-Female / Same-Gender]

Anime is now one of the cultural phenomena Japan can proudly share with the world as part of its pop culture.

The anime songs that color these scenes are no longer just for anime fans! Chances are, your favorite artist or band has also done a theme song for an anime at some point.

In this article, we’ll focus specifically on duet songs among popular anime tracks.

While duets traditionally mean a male-female pair, this time we’ll also include songs by two men and two women.

Feel free to use this as a guide when you’re looking for songs to sing at karaoke!

Duet Songs from Anime and Character Songs (21–30)

momentVivian or Kazuma

This song with a heartrending melody that pierces the heart is “moment,” the opening theme of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

It was performed by the unit Vivian or Kazuma—a collaboration between the Taiwanese celebrity and actress Vivian Hsu and Kazuma Endō, the former guitarist of SIAM SHADE.

This is an insert song from the anime of the same name, based on the hugely popular shoujo manga Kamisama Kiss.

It’s sung by Suzuko Mimori and Shinnosuke Tachibana, who play the main characters in the series.

The song expresses the delicate feelings of two people who care for each other but often find their emotions out of sync.

Anyway, this refreshingly breezy song is the opening theme of the anime Haruchika: Haruta & Chika, titled “If I Could Weave a Rainbow.” The innocent vocals of the two singers perfectly match the anime’s content—simply irresistible.

The track is by the three-member music group fhána and was released in 2016 as their eighth single.

This piece, which colors the ending of Astronōto, is a refreshing duet song performed by Maaya Uchida as Mira Gotokuji and Soma Saito as Takumi Miyasaka.

The sprightly melody woven by their voices and the dreamy arrangement that evokes a starry sky leave a strong impression.

With lyrics themed around space and romance, it perfectly matches the worldview of the anime—a sci-fi romantic comedy depicting the mysterious daily lives of an alien landlord and the residents.

Released digitally in April 2024, this track is recommended not only for anime fans but also for those who enjoy pop and love songs.

It also sounds like it would be fun to sing at karaoke.

Kerop! MarchNoburo Tsunoda, Juri Ihata

This song, with its cute and poppy melody, is loved by many people.

Known as the theme song of “Sgt.

Frog,” its delightfully funny lyrics are irresistibly charming.

The composition is very solid, making it a track that really builds excitement.

LionMay’n / Megumi Nakajima

When it comes to iconic female duets, you can’t leave out “Lion” sung by May’n and Megumi Nakajima! The song was used as the opening theme for the anime Macross Frontier and was released in 2008.

In the anime, May’n performs the singing voice for Sheryl Nome, while Megumi Nakajima plays Ranka Lee.

Composer Yoko Kanno has said she crafted the song with the idea that, despite the love triangle, there’s a sense of solidarity and empathy budding between the two.

Beyond their back-and-forth interplay, the powerful unison and harmonies are a major draw of this track.

Just like in the anime, it’s also great to sing this as a duet between two “rivals”!

Many people probably know the classic song “Yume no Naka e,” written and composed by Yosui Inoue, whether through Inoue himself or Yuki Saito’s rendition.

But did you know it was once used as an anime song? In 1998, it was chosen as the opening theme for the TV anime “His and Her Circumstances” (directed by Hideaki Anno, famous for works like Evangelion), and it was performed by Atsuko Enomoto and Chihiro Suzuki, who played the main characters.

Beyond the song’s excellence, the freshness of their vocals is also very appealing.
