It is considered a foundational genre of Brazilian popular music.

Marco Pereira, renowned as a master of guitar in Brazilian choro, studied guitar and music theory in Paris.
While living there, he participated in jazz and Latin festivals and experienced the joy of music.
Although he is one of Brazil’s foremost guitarists, he has also taught as a lecturer at the University of São Paulo.

Negra Li is a female singer-songwriter who is also active as an actress and dancer.
She’s a hugely popular artist in Brazil, enjoying overwhelming support from younger audiences.
Her music is rooted in R&B and soul, and lately she has been releasing songs centered on slow jams, which are a global trend.
She has a very rich, powerful vocal tone, giving even laid-back tracks a strong presence.

Pepeu Gomes is one of Brazil’s most iconic guitarists.
Known for a musical style that blends samba rock and psychedelic rock, he has been active in Brazil for many years.
If you follow instrumental artists and bands from South America, you’ve probably heard of him.
One of his classic songs is “Sexy Yemanjá,” a cheerful and gentle track that also showcases his singer-songwriter side.

She has been a leading figure in Brazilian rock.
Before her solo debut, she served as the vocalist for Os Mutantes, the rock band that epitomized the Tropicalist movement.
