Marcelo D2 (full name: Marcelo Maldonato Gomes Peixoto, born January 5, 1967) is a Brazilian hip-hop musician.

After performing with a hip-hop group he formed with fellow Taoists, he released his first album, “Eu Tiro É Onda,” in 1998.

His appeal lies in hip-hop with a strong samba flavor.

One song evokes a wide range of influences, from a blues-style intro to reggae-tinged rhythms and an Arabic-style melody.
