They are known for songs such as Breakout, Twilight World, Now You’re Not Here, and Who’s Been Sleeping.

John Scofield is a jazz and fusion guitarist from Ohio, USA.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 1974, he began performing professionally.

He joined the Miles Davis group and also played with Herbie Hancock’s band.

He is known for deliberately playing out-of-tune phrases and for shifting to a key a half step below the home key during performances.

MirageJean-Luc Ponty

Jean-Luc Ponty is a jazz violinist from Avranches, France.

He left the Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1975 to pursue a solo career, and his 1977 album Enigmatic Ocean is regarded as a masterpiece in crossover history.

He is also known as a leading figure of the electric violin in the fusion scene, with a distinctive progressive flair.

The track Mirage is particularly famous.

Bob James is a pianist, music producer, composer, and arranger from Missouri, USA.

He began playing piano at the age of four, won a jazz festival in 1962 with his trio, and was discovered by Quincy Jones.

His first album had a modern jazz sound, and Jones introduced him to the founder of CTI Records.

From around 1967, he participated as a player in recordings with various artists, and by composing and arranging, he played a key role during the crossover era.

His song Take Me to the Mardi Gras became well-known in Japan.

Deodato is a Brazilian musician, arranger, and keyboard player in the crossover/fusion genre.

He debuted in Brazil in 1964, and around 1967 he became known as a renowned arranger on jazz labels such as CTI.

In an era before the terms “crossover” and “fusion” even existed, his jazz-inflected arrangements of classical works became major hits.

His representative tracks include Also Sprach Zarathustra and Love Island.
