A collection of renowned and popular songs by EGOIST, the music group born from an anime

We would like to introduce songs by EGOIST, the music group formed within the TV anime Guilty Crown.

EGOIST was a fictional group in the anime, but they performed the opening and insert songs and continued their activities even after the anime ended.

The group was produced by ryo from supercell, with vocals by chelly, who was selected through supercell’s guest vocalist audition.

Although the group ended its activities in October 2023, their songs continue to be widely supported, especially among anime fans.

Now, please enjoy the music of EGOIST!

What I Found in This WorldEGOIST

This is the 10th track on the 1st album, “Extra terrestrial Biological Entities.” From the intro alone, you can already feel something coming, and the lyrics packed with Inori’s feelings are moving to tears.

If you listen to it while watching the final episode’s visuals, it becomes an even more heartrending song.

Kimi Sora KisekiEGOIST

The coupling song to The Everlasting Guilty Crown.

The events from the anime come flooding back to mind one by one.

It’s a song that makes you feel how Inori’s feelings for Shu moved her.

I ended up crying at the ending of the final episode.

1.4.2EGOIST

The coupling track for Fallen.

At first, I thought it meant something like “one night,” but if you read it in English as “one for two,” the literal translation would be “one for the sake of two,” so I figured maybe that’s it.

Since stars appear in the lyrics, I can’t help but think it’s a bit of a pun or wordplay.

Lovely Icecream Princess SweetieEGOIST

This is a track included as the fifth song on the 1st album, “Extra terrestrial Biological Entities.” It’s an up-tempo piece that draws you in more and more the more you listen.

It really has that quintessential ‘girl’s song’ feel, which is nice.

Rain, Taking You AlongEGOIST

This is a track included as the fourth song on the 1st album, “Extra terrestrial Biological Entities.” It won’t bring you down even on rainy days.

I think it’s one of those songs that can make you feel positive anytime you listen to it.

Too lateEGOIST

This is a song included as the sixth track on the 1st album, “Extra terrestrial Biological Entities.” It’s also a fast-paced song, but since the beginning is chanted like a spell, I first thought, “What is this?” Then it keeps repeating ‘too late,’ so I found it to be an interesting song.

DoorEGOIST

DoorEGOIST

The theme song for the anime film “The Empire of Corpses.” It’s one of the original full-length novels left behind by Keikaku Ito, a novelist who died young at 34.

The Empire of Corpses was completed by his close friend Tow Ubukata… actually by his ally Toh EnJoe, who continued writing from the 30-page prologue Ito left.

The intro evokes a sense of melancholy—almost something you might hear in jazz.

It’s a wonderful piece that perfectly matches the fantastical world of The Empire of Corpses.
