Karaoke songs that make it easy for women to score high

Karaoke systems with scoring features have been getting more and more sophisticated lately, and an increasing number now evaluate vocal techniques like vibrato and scooping.

However, the largest part of the scoring criteria is still the accuracy of melody and rhythm.

In this feature, we focus on those criteria and have compiled a selection of songs that are easy to sing and likely to score high, especially ones where it’s easy to follow the melody and rhythm.

When karaoke has a scoring function, you can’t help but want to go for a high score, whether you’re confident in your singing or not.

For each song, we’ve also included tips on how to earn a high score, so be sure to use them as a reference and aim for your best.

That said, the most important thing is to forget about the numbers and just sing freely and have fun the way you like!

Karaoke Songs That Make It Easy for Women to Score High (251–260)

Prince ShōtokuWednesday Campanella

A digital single released exclusively for streaming by Wednesday Campanella in October 2023.

It’s crafted as a medium-tempo track that simply makes you feel happy just by listening! The vocal melody doesn’t span a very wide range, so I think anyone can sing it comfortably.

Since it’s such a catchy and fun song, just be sure to lock in with the rhythm of the backing track when you sing.

ScarletDAZBEE

DAZBEE | “Scarlet” M/V
ScarletDAZBEE

DAZBEE is a Korean female singer known for her beautifully polished, voice-actor-like tone.

She has many hit songs, but among them, the one I especially recommend to women for aiming high scores is Scarlet.

Throughout the track, she uses a whisper-voice technique, singing in a soft, breathy style.

Because of this, it doesn’t require much vocal power.

The song also has a narrow vocal range, making it an ideal choice for going after a high score.

Answer check JUJU

This is JUJU’s 41st single, released on November 10, 2021.

It’s been crafted into a pop track that makes great use of JUJU’s slightly cute vocal tone.

The vocal melody is very approachable and easy to hum along to, so if you follow the melody straightforwardly, I think it won’t be too hard to score high at karaoke.

Try to place your voice toward your upper palate as you sing; you’ll get a sparkling tone rich in higher overtones, similar to her own—give it a try! After the second chorus, in the D-melody section, also aim to sing as powerfully as you can.

FriendsREBECCA

REBECCA “Friends” (Shibuya Public Hall, Dec 25, 1985)
Friends REBECCA

This was REBECCA’s fourth single, released on October 21, 1985.

It’s counted among the classic hits of the 1980s.

Compared to today’s songs, which often have complex melodies and arrangements, many tracks from that era are simple and straightforward, and this song is no exception.

It’s a great pick when you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.

The tempo is a very easy-to-groove-to medium-to-up-tempo, which also makes it easier to score well.

It’s a song that makes you feel like the key to a high score is not overthinking it and just enjoying singing.

W/X/YTani Yuuki

W/X/Y – Tani Yuuki (Official Lyric Video)
W/X/YTani Yuuki

This is Tani Yuuki’s fifth digital single overall, released in May 2021.

Incidentally, the title “W/X/Y” is said to combine the sex chromosomes of females (WX = XX) and males (XY).

Now, this song features a slightly bouncy rhythm and singing techniques such as mixed voice to falsetto in the B section, which makes it a bit challenging in several areas if you’re aiming for a high karaoke score—so it’s more of an advanced pick.

Precisely because of that, though, the sense of accomplishment when you pull it off should be huge.

That said, the melody itself is very easy to remember and approachable, so if you take your time listening to and studying the original, you should definitely be able to aim for a high score.

Give it a try!

Cherry Blossom Timeaiko

Sakura no Toki by aiko

Aiko’s fifth major-label single, released in February 2000.

It was also used in a commercial for Calpis lactic-acid beverage “Calpis Water,” so many of you might recognize it from there.

As for the song itself, the vocal melody doesn’t cover a very wide range and the tempo makes it easy to sing, so I don’t think it’s too hard for the general public to aim for high karaoke scores with it.

The melody is very catchy and easy to remember, too.

Just be careful not to let the slightly bouncy rhythm turn flat!

3636Aimyon

Aimyon – 3636 [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
3636 Aimyon

A track included on Aimyon’s 4th album “Hitomi e Ochiruyo Record,” released in August 2022.

The truth of it isn’t certain, but apparently the title is read as “San-roku san-roku.” It’s a lovely medium-to-slow tempo song with a slightly wistful melody and arrangement.

The vocal melody, like the arrangement, is very simple and easy to hum along to, making it a great choice when you want to score high at karaoke.

Throughout the song, the key to making it sound good is to sing without straining.

Toward the end of the chorus there’s a part that’s sung a bit in falsetto, so if falsetto isn’t your strong suit, practice switching registers smoothly.
