Karaoke songs that make it easy for women to score high
Karaoke systems with scoring features have been getting more and more sophisticated lately, and an increasing number now evaluate vocal techniques like vibrato and scooping.
However, the largest part of the scoring criteria is still the accuracy of melody and rhythm.
In this feature, we focus on those criteria and have compiled a selection of songs that are easy to sing and likely to score high, especially ones where it’s easy to follow the melody and rhythm.
When karaoke has a scoring function, you can’t help but want to go for a high score, whether you’re confident in your singing or not.
For each song, we’ve also included tips on how to earn a high score, so be sure to use them as a reference and aim for your best.
That said, the most important thing is to forget about the numbers and just sing freely and have fun the way you like!

Karaoke Songs That Make It Easy for Women to Score High (251–260)
FutabaAimyon

This is Aimyon’s fourth digital-only single, released on March 24, 2022.
It serves as the theme song for NHK’s “Aimyon 18 Festival.” With its simple tempo and straightforward melody, it’s a perfect choice when you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.
Aimyon’s slightly boyish vocal tone suits the song beautifully, so try singing it as plainly and honestly as she does.
The vocal range used in the melody isn’t very wide, but be sure to avoid tightening your throat when singing the higher notes in the chorus.

flutter; thrill; a heart-pounding feelingIkimonogakari

This is Ikimono-gakari’s 34th single, released in September 2023.
It was created as the 20th anniversary song for the Pretty Cure series and is used as the opening theme for NHK E-TV’s “Power of Hope: Otona Precure ’23.” It’s an upbeat track brimming with a sense of exhilaration from start to finish, with a very pop vocal melody that’s easy to sing and easy to remember—so aiming for a high karaoke score might not be just a dream.
Since it’s such a bright song, try singing with your voice resonating against the roof of your mouth.
You’ll likely be able to sing with a bright, refreshing tone like the original.
heartbeatMiyuki Nakajima

This is singer-songwriter Miyuki Nakajima’s 48th single, released in September 2023.
It was written specifically as the theme song for the animated film “Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Kōjō” (The Illusion Factory of Alice and Therese).
Although Nakajima has had a long career, this is actually her first time working on an anime song, and I felt she achieved a track that exquisitely captures the world the anime portrays.
The melody is very simple and doesn’t use an especially wide vocal range, which likely works to its advantage.
Precisely because of that, I think it’s also one of the best choices when you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.
Sing with overall power, but be mindful of expressing dynamics in each section of the song.
MonopolyNogizaka46

Nogizaka46 is a hugely popular group that still shows no signs of slowing down.
With their catchy sound and charming personalities, they’re always at the top of the charts.
Among their works, the one I especially recommend is Monopoly.
True to Nogizaka46’s style, it’s characterized by a simple, easy-to-sing melody.
If I had to point out a tricky spot, it would be the C-melody right before the final chorus.
There’s a slightly higher section, but it doesn’t require falsetto, so if you want to nail the pitch, try narrowing your voice and singing more lightly.
Midnight Where the Moon and Stars DanceHinatazaka46

This is the eighth single by the idol group Hinatazaka46, released in October 2022.
By the way, Kyoko Saito serves as the center for the song.
The CD was produced in five versions: four limited editions (Type A to Type D) and a regular edition.
Each version features different artwork and different tracks besides the lead song.
Now, getting to the main topic of this article—singing this track at karaoke—after giving the song a quick listen, the vocal melody doesn’t span a particularly wide range, and there aren’t many tricky sections.
It seems like an excellent choice when you want to aim for a high score.
There are parts, such as in the chorus, where you need to sing quickly, so be careful not to rush the rhythm and make sure to pronounce each word clearly.
The key may be a bit low for a female song, so if you’re not comfortable with lower notes, it might be better to raise the karaoke key a little.
CharacterGreen Yellow Society

Included on Ryokuoushoku Shakai’s third studio album, “Actor,” released on January 26, 2022.
The track was used as the CM song for Morinaga’s “in Jelly,” so many of you may have heard it on TV.
From the very beginning, vocalist Nagaya delivers a chorus with a wide melodic range, skillfully blending in falsetto, which makes this a slightly advanced pick in that sense.
However, once you clear that point, there aren’t many rhythmic challenges, and with its up-tempo, highly groovy feel, aiming for a high karaoke score isn’t just a dream.
If you’re not confident in smoothly switching between chest voice and falsetto, try lowering the key.
Because the sun will rise againGreen Yellow Society

It’s Ryokuoushoku Shakai’s fifth single overall, released on April 20, 2022.
It was written as the theme song for the animated film Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden.
It’s an upbeat, very catchy, and lively track, so I think it’ll make you feel great and be a lot of fun to sing at karaoke.
Haruko Nagaya’s vocals deftly switch between mixed voice and falsetto, especially in the high notes of the chorus, so in that sense it might be a slightly advanced pick.
But if you’re not confident with high tones or smooth register shifts, you should be fine if you lower the key.
Ideally, I’d love for you to sing this song without worrying about scores—just enjoy singing and letting your voice out!
