It’s here! Western dance songs that are staples for school cultural festivals (161–170)
TATTOOTHE BOYZ

They are an 11-member Korean unit.
They initially called themselves Crackers but soon changed to their current name.
They are active in Japan as well, and they’re so well-known that anyone who likes K-pop is sure to know them.
Their music videos are highly danceable, so I think it’s great to watch and copy the moves while dancing.
Of course, men can dance to them, but it looks especially cool when performed by a group of women.
The choreography works for both small and large groups.
Lavender HazeTaylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s Lavender Haze, which captivates with its languid mood and sweet atmosphere, is included on her 2022 album Midnights.
The title “Lavender Haze” is a phrase that was popular in the 1950s, referring to the state of being in love.
The song expresses that hazy, floaty feeling you have in the midst of romance.
Try dancing to its relaxed four-on-the-floor beat at a school festival or similar event.
Closer ft. HalseyThe Chainsmokers

Their massive hit! The cool, feel-good vibe you get the first time you hear this track had so many people hooked.
When it was released, it was one of the top five most-played songs by countless DJs at clubs and festivals.
The female collaborator Halsey’s vocals are refreshingly great, too! It’s super well-known, so if you use it as BGM at a school festival, it’ll definitely hype things up—might even give the event a stylish vibe!
This Feeling ft. Kelsea BalleriniThe Chainsmokers

This song sings about the importance of moving forward with your own ideas.
It’s a track by The Chainsmokers, the music duo of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall.
It was included on their 2018 album “Sick Boy.” Singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini is featured on the track.
The sound has a bright, uplifting feel.
All NighterTiësto

Tiësto, a DJ and music producer from the Netherlands.
His track “All Nighter,” which puts his unique musical style front and center, is a perfect dance number with pleasantly bouncing synthesizer sounds.
Tiësto is especially skilled at crafting impactful tracks, and this one is no exception—the brief moment of silence right before the chorus serves as a great hook.
It could also be a great arrangement choice to make that spot a highlight in a dance performance!
Don’t Waste My Time (feat. Ella Mai)Usher

The best dance music by American singer-songwriter Usher.
The handclaps in the intro could serve as a device to draw the audience in when performing a show.
Since it’s a steady, mid-tempo track, it’s more about creating a mood and dancing smoothly rather than going all-out energetic.
Partway through, it becomes a male–female twin vocal, so choreographing with a storyline along those lines would be wonderful!
SOSOWINNER

If you’re looking for orthodox K-pop dance music, “SOSO” is a great pick.
Its simple melody—typical of K-pop—makes it easy for beginners to dance to.
Adding animation-style moves in the chorus should really hype things up.
The rhythm has a nice contrast between calm and dynamic, so it suits popping and locking.
The downside is that the song isn’t very well-known, which can be a drawback for school festivals.
Aside from that, it’s extremely easy to dance to, so I recommend it.
