[Challenge] A Compilation of Anime Songs with High-Pitched Melodies and High-Tone Vocals
I believe everyone has their own favorite kind of music.
And there are probably quite a few people who think “high-pitched vocals are great.”
In this article, I’ll be introducing anime songs that feature high melodies and high-tone vocals.
I’ve picked out high-pitched tracks for both male and female singers.
Genre-wise, the playlist ranges widely—from powerful tunes to stylish works.
It might come in handy when choosing songs for karaoke.
[Challenge] Compilation of High-Pitched Melodies and High-Tone Voice Anime Songs (1–10)
Driver’s HighNEW!L’Arc〜en〜Ciel

Among L’Arc~en~Ciel’s many songs, “Driver’s High” is one of the most popular.
It also served as the theme song for the anime GTO, which helped it gain worldwide acclaim.
The song’s vocal range is quite wide, from mid1 E to high B.
While high B is often sung in falsetto, in this song it’s delivered with a mixed voice, and it appears frequently—six times in total.
It’s a perfect piece for practicing mixed voice, which requires strong projection, so definitely give it a try.
Kaikai KitanEVE

This is the fourth major digital single by the male singer-songwriter Eve, who began his online activities in 2009 and has also gained attention as a vocalist and Vocaloid producer.
Written specifically as the opening theme for the TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen, the song became a massive hit, with both its music video and streaming plays surpassing 200 million views.
Because the melody spans a wide vocal range—from low notes in the first verse to large interval leaps in the chorus—finding a suitable key is important when singing it at karaoke.
Although widely recognized by many listeners, this rock tune is also known for being challenging to perform.
It seems like it has to be you.Masayoshi Oishi

This is the debut single by singer-songwriter Masayoshi Oishi, who is also active as the vocalist and guitarist of the three-piece rock band Sound Schedule and has drawn attention for his high-tone voice.
The song was used as the opening theme for the TV anime Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun and won the Composition Award in Sony Music’s Heisei Anisong Grand Prize, a popular anime song voting campaign.
Since the overall key is high and the melody is complex, make sure to practice thoroughly before trying it at karaoke.
It’s a straightforward anime song with a brisk arrangement that will lift your spirits.
lapis lazuliEir Aoi

This is the 10th single by female singer Eir Aoi, who electrifies audiences at her live shows with rock band–style staging—headbanging, arm swings, and jumps.
The track was selected as the ending theme for the TV anime The Heroic Legend of Arslan.
The song opens right from the chorus, and because it mixes falsetto on top of high notes from the start, it’s a melody that leaves no room to hide.
If the key doesn’t suit your voice but you still want to sing it close to the original, keep experimenting with adjustments to find the very edge of your range and give it a try.
Flamequeen bee

This is the fifth single by the four-piece rock band Queen Bee, led by Avu-chan, who captivates fans with a richly varied singing voice categorized by numbered vocal types.
The song was used as the opening theme for the TV anime Dororo, and its brisk, driving arrangement over a lively beat really amps up the energy.
With a tricky melody line that repeatedly jumps between high and low registers—and even includes a rap section—it’s fair to say this is quite challenging to sing at karaoke.
It’s a good idea to identify the parts that fall outside your comfortable key due to the wide pitch range, and start practicing from the sections that are easiest for you.
METANOIANana Mizuki

Beyond her musical activities, Nana Mizuki is also active as a voice actress and narrator—fields that showcase her voice—and her singing, which reveals her wide expressive range, captivates fans.
This is her 39th single, used as the opening theme for the TV anime Symphogear XV.
The contrast between the loud rock sound and the thrilling synths feels very modern.
Because the chorus melody is quite high in pitch and has a strong sense of speed, you’ll need practice to sing it steadily.
The verses (A-melo and B-melo) aren’t as high in pitch, but they employ techniques that test expressiveness, such as edge voice, so give those a try as well.
dawnLiSA

This is the 18th single by LiSA, a female singer who drew widespread attention in the J-POP scene thanks to the explosive success of her 15th single “Gurenge,” released in 2019.
The song was used as the opening theme for the TV anime Back Arrow, and its high-velocity rock sound makes it a crowd-pleaser at live shows.
The chorus features a finely balanced falsetto that adds tension, but since the melodies before and after it are also set in a high key, it’s easy to slip off pitch when singing it at karaoke, so caution is advised.
Compare it with your own vocal range, and if it isn’t completely out of reach, definitely give this exhilarating rock tune a try.
