I can hear tomorrowJ-Friends
A heartwarming charity song filled with hope for the future and a strong will.
Its powerful message about overcoming hardship and moving forward blends beautifully with a breezy, approachable melody.
Created by J-FRIENDS, a group comprising members of the accomplished acts TOKIO, V6, and KinKi Kids, the song was released in January 1998 and reached No.
1 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
It was also chosen as the image song for Nippon TV’s coverage of the Nagano Olympics, leaving a deep impression on many.
It’s perfect for karaoke, too, as singing it together creates a sense of unity.
Cinderella ChristmasNEW!KinKi Kids

It’s a sparkling, classic Christmas song that makes you want to hum along about “spending the holy night with your lover”! It’s not up-tempo or a ballad, but sits at a perfect in-between pace, so it’s easy to find good spots to breathe and keep a groove while singing.
The melodic line from verse to pre-chorus to chorus is smooth, making it easy for beginners to learn.
Up to the chorus it stays relatively low, so be careful not to let your voice get muffled.
Try to sing with care and project clearly into the mic! It’s also popular as a duet, perfect for harmonizing with a friend.
Of course, it’s a lovely song to sing solo as well! Sparkly songs like this are easy to sing at karaoke and highly recommended!
I WishNaniwa Danshi

I Wish, the sixth single by Naniwa Danshi, was chosen as the theme song for the TBS Tuesday drama My Second Aoharu.
The melody has the feel of a Heisei-era idol song, with a moderate mid-tempo.
The vocal range spans from mid1 G# to hi B, with the highest chest note at hi A.
Both the falsetto and chest voice peak notes only appear in the final chorus, so overall it leans more toward a mid-to-high range rather than purely high.
Its catchiness is outstanding, so it’s sure to go over great at karaoke.
JAPONICA STYLESixTONES

SixTONES debuted in 2020, but this song had been performed at concerts and other events even before their debut, and it remains a long-standing favorite among fans.
The sound has a traditional Japanese vibe, and the lyrics use words that evoke a sense of wa (Japanese aesthetics), which leaves a strong impression and seems to express the image of the title straightforwardly.
While incorporating elements of Japanese style, the core is a beat-driven, fast-paced sound that clearly conveys the group’s power and coolness.
Glaring SummerNaniwa Danshi

Naniwa Danshi’s summer song “Gira Gira Summer,” released in 2025.
It starts with a samba-style intro, but quickly shifts into orthodox J-pop, so there’s no particular quirk to the vocal lines.
The samba element in the chorus is basically just the whistle, and since it’s not in a 16-beat feel, it’s an easy song to sing rhythmically as well.
The melody stays on the higher side and there’s a key change toward the end, but the overall range isn’t wildly wide, so there’s plenty of room to lower the key.
Find the range that suits you and give it a try.
VenusTackey & Tsubasa

This is the sixth single by Tackey & Tsubasa—affectionately known as TakiTsuba—and their biggest hit, released on January 18, 2006.
It’s also popular overseas, and the DVD includes versions in four languages as well as a choreography manual! With its passionate melody, lyrics, and cool choreography, the perfectly synced singing and dancing are impressive.
The dance isn’t complicated, so be sure to give it a listen and try it out yourself!

Lion HeartSMAP

This is the 32nd single by SMAP, the beloved national idol group for whom calls for a reunion have continued even after their 2016 breakup.
The song was used as the theme for the TV drama “Food Fight,” and the single is also famous for including “Orange,” renowned as “SMAP’s most well-known B-side in Japan.” A massive hit, it features lyrics that sing of straightforward love and a gentle melody woven with SMAP’s signature harmonies.
Cherished as a proposal song as well, it remains an enduring classic.
