Wajeed is a key figure you can’t leave out when talking about Detroit’s hip-hop scene—a producer anyone who loves the Eastside will know.

But he’s not only active in hip-hop; he’s made his mark in techno as well.

His new track, “Motor City Madness,” delivers a modern, stylish sound befitting a Detroit composer.

If you’re into a blend of smooth jazz and house, this is a must-listen!

bda creaturealtrice

The term “techno” is so broad that it’s almost fair to call it a catch-all for electronic music.

When you think of a major genre within techno, many people picture house.

House is generally known for its breezy, uplifting vibe, but recently a more core subgenre—deep house—has been gaining popularity.

This track, “bda creature,” is a new deep house release.

Unlike the deep house that appears in the mainstream, it’s striking for how well it captures the characteristics of old-school house.

If you want to experience highly complex techno, I recommend “uja end.” Clocking in at a standard 4 minutes and 53 seconds, this track packs far more developments than typical electronic music, offering a wealth of appeal within a single piece.

Overall, it feels like shreddy jazz and fusion jazz distilled into electronic music, yet it also features heavy, drill-like sounds and sections with airy, artcore-style beats—its allure lies in a complexity so rich it defies a simple description.

AjhussiFlying Lotus

Flying Lotus, known for his mastery of sound collage, returns with a work released in October 2024 that distinctively fuses experimental electronic music with Asian cultural influences.

Seamlessly weaving electronica, hip-hop, and ambient, the sound conjures a dreamy, mysterious atmosphere.

Inspired by the Korean word “ajusshi,” the piece evokes a nostalgic theme that suggests a crossroads of tradition and modernity.

Its multilayered rhythms, intricate beats, and singular sonic textures crafted from samples and electronic tones transport listeners to another dimension.

Jazz-inflected basslines add accents to the ethereal mood, making this a standout track for anyone seeking a fresh musical experience.

Journey To The UnderworldANNA

A standout talent from Brazil who’s drawing major attention in the South American techno scene, the female producer ANNA unleashed a killer dance track in January 2022! Released on Afterlife, the label run by Tale Of Us, the title track from her EP “Journey To The Underworld” combines a heavy beat and dark-tinged synth sounds.

Aggressive yet uniquely beautiful, “Journey To The Underworld” will transport listeners to somewhere beyond the here and now just by listening.

A track I’d recommend for winding down after an intense high is “Breathe In.” It’s a collaboration between the Ukraine-born music duo ARTBAT and Another Life.

Despite being drum and bass, the sound is slow-tempo and layered with a male voice.

What the man is saying are phrases that encourage deep breathing.

Why not take a big breath in to match it and cool down? By the way, the music video is quite impactful in its own right.
