Hit and popular songs by LEON (Léon)
Last updated:

LEON, a VOCALOID-compatible singing voice synthesis software, was first released in 2004.

LEON (male voice) and LOLA (female voice), among the very first VOCALOID products, were developed in the UK and are designed for English, but it seems some producers have devised ways to make them sing in Japanese as well.

The voice source is said to be a British soul singer, but LEON can handle a wide range of genres beyond soul.

It was originally developed with the goal of handling backing vocals, but nowadays a scene has formed where Vocaloids sing as the main vocals.

Now then, please listen to the singing voice of LEON, the origin of Vocaloid.

MemoryLEON/matt9five

A duet song by Leon and Lola.

Against a meticulously crafted, cool, Western-style sound, the two sing passionately.

Since there aren’t many changes in development, it also seems suitable as background music for work.

It’s so cool that you can’t help but get absorbed in it.

The opening song of the anime Spice and Wolf, composed by Tomohiko Kira of ZABADAK, is sung by both Hatsune Miku and Leon.

It faithfully reproduces the original, and the atmosphere is excellent.

The MAD is also impressive.

Miku’s voice sounds a bit youthful.

PHANTOMLEON/Lirana

This track is characterized by a solemn, dreamlike atmosphere.

The volume is somewhat low, so increasing it is recommended.

Even so, listeners have been leaving enthusiastic comments in support, astonished by the natural, human-like singing.

Eight Vocaloids—MEIKO, KAITO, LEON, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Hiyama Kiyoteru, Megurine Luka, and Kamui Gakupo—are singing the opening theme song of the well-known “Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi.” Not only is the choral work impressive, but the harmonies are beautiful too.
