Aim for a high score! Karaoke songs for men to achieve top scores
If you’re simply aiming for a high score at karaoke, the key points for song selection will naturally be to choose songs with “easy-to-sing melodies,” “easy-to-understand lyrics,” and “clear, straightforward rhythms.”
That being the case, your picks will tend to come from the ’90s and earlier—so-called Showa-era and early Heisei kayōkyoku, new music, and J-pop.
Many recent songs have complex melodies and rhythms, and plenty of people think “This is hard!” after just one listen.
In this article, aimed at men who want to score high at karaoke, I’ve also proactively selected relatively singable tracks even from among more recent songs.
Compared to older hits, these are a bit more challenging to sing, but each song’s write-up includes tips and points to watch for to help you boost your score, so please use this as a guide and give them a try!

Aim for a high score! Karaoke songs for men to get top marks (21–30)
road; way; path; street; route; Tao (in philosophy)EXILE

It’s a classic graduation song that’s often performed as a chorus.
Since it’s commonly sung in chorus, you won’t encounter complex rhythms.
That’s a big advantage when aiming for a high score with scoring features! As long as you target the pitches accurately and sing without going off-key, a high score is guaranteed!
raw liverCreepHyp

CreepHyp is a rock band known for its wide-ranging musicality, from catchy tunes to unique works.
They’re especially popular among teens and people in their twenties, and many of you probably know them since they’re constantly dropping hit tracks.
Among their songs, the one I particularly recommend is Nama Reba.
It’s a unique piece that, while quirky, reveals a serious message in the latter half.
The vocal line in this track is very simple.
The range is on the narrower side, with no complex rises and falls in pitch.
In fact, the chorus is quite monotonous.
However, because there are few break points in the chorus, make sure to steady your breathing as you transition from the B-melody into the chorus.
FlowerORANGE RANGE

Released in 2004 as ORANGE RANGE’s eighth single.
When singing this song at karaoke, the key point is how well you handle the rap parts outside the chorus.
Be careful with the rhythm so you don’t end up sounding flat, while still preserving the melody of the original.
The chorus isn’t that high in key and the melody is quite approachable, so once you get through the first verse (A-melo), it’s easier to score high!
bouquetback number

This is one of back number’s signature songs, expressing straightforward feelings for a lover.
Its lyrics, which sound like speaking directly to a partner, resonate with many people.
The pitch is relatively low, making it easier to sing.
Since the opening starts in a low range, be careful not to go off pitch.
Seeds of joyMrs. GREEN APPLE

This song was first unveiled as a secret track on the venue-limited mini-album “Introduction” on July 5, 2014, and later officially included on July 8, 2025, in the 10th anniversary best album “10,” making it a once-lost track! The melody line is gentle and sung with clear enunciation, so even beginners should find it easy to match the pitch bar.
For the verses (A-melody to B-melody), speak carefully and make sure your voice is firmly carried by the mic.
Also, the chorus kicks in around the 3-minute mark, and the overall energy ramps up significantly.
There should be ample opportunities to breathe between phrases, so take a solid breath for each phrase and use that air to project your voice as you exhale.
If you tense up, you’ll end up chest-breathing instead of using your diaphragm, which can make it uncomfortable—so stay calm and breathe steadily!
I want to be kinder.Kazuyoshi Saito

Many of you may know Kazuyoshi Saito’s “Yasashiku Naritai,” which was also featured in the TV drama Kaseifu no Mita.
This song is especially easy in terms of pitch, so it’s a great choice if you’re aiming for a high score.
That said, if you focus only on keeping the pitch, you’ll lose the real fun of karaoke—so try to channel Kazuyoshi Saito and sing it cool.
sasanqua (Camellia sasanqua)SEKAI NO OWARI

This is the 12th major (14th overall) single by the Japanese band SEKAI NO OWARI, released in February 2018.
It was selected as NHK’s broadcast theme song for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, and it also won the Excellence Award at the 60th Japan Record Awards.
It’s a beautiful ballad with a slightly boyish-sounding vocal that leaves a strong impression.
Compared to songs from the early 2000s and earlier that we’ve often featured, the vocal melody includes a few sections that are somewhat challenging to sing, making it a selection geared a bit more toward advanced singers.
However, if you carefully follow the melody, you can definitely aim for a high score, so if you’re confident in your singing, give it a try.
