Lilac - Mrs. GREEN APPLE

Mrs.

GREEN APPLE is a rock band with a catchy sound that’s hugely popular among teens.

Their music is distinctly J-pop without any quirky mannerisms, and they keep releasing hit songs one after another.

Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend is Lilac.

Overall, it doesn’t demand a very wide vocal range, but falsetto does appear in the chorus.

However, that falsetto part is sung relatively low for a falsetto.

Normally, songs with sections like this are considered difficult, but if you’re a male singer with a higher voice, you can actually choose to sing it in chest voice instead—so I decided to include it in the ranking.

The song “Stardom,” included on their self-released debut album Introduction and later re-recorded to open the best-of album 5, showcases the evolution from their early days through the end of Phase 1.

While the ensemble has a driving feel, the melody is more relaxed, with relatively little pitch fluctuation, making it easier to sing even for those who struggle to stay on pitch with karaoke backing tracks.

However, since there are sections with a high key, if you can’t hit those notes, be sure to lower the key to a comfortable range.

[Super Popular Mrs.!] Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s Easy-to-Sing Songs (31–40)

FolktaleMrs. GREEN APPLE

Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s iconic song “Folktale” is striking for its ennui-laden atmosphere.

Featured on the 2019 album “Attitude,” the track maintains a wistful tone outside of the chorus.

The chorus, however, boasts a truly grand melody, creating an excellent contrast with the A and B sections.

Because the tempo is slow and the vocal range isn’t excessively wide, this song is relatively easy to sing compared to many of Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s more challenging pieces.

The key point is the vocal delivery at the start of the chorus: make sure to articulate clearly, or it may come across as limp.

If the falsetto part in the latter half is difficult, it’s fine to sing the lower line of the double instead.

The Moon and the AnemoneMrs. GREEN APPLE

Tsuki to Anemone, notable for its twin vocals with Ayaka Yamanaka, who was on drums at the time.

The track is included as the B-side to the 9th single, Romanticism, and although it was produced in 2014, it ended up being shelved for a while.

Since the overall key is low and the singing is restrained, it should be easy even for those who still feel shy about belting it out at karaoke.

It’s an emotional number that will get the crowd going, especially if you duet with a friend.

Ke-Mo Sah-BeeMrs. GREEN APPLE

The track “Ke-Mo Sah-Bee,” included on the 4th album Attitude.

The contrast between the hysteric guitar sound and the airy synths, set against an aggressive drum beat, creates a striking impact.

The chorus in particular features a high-velocity ensemble, yet the melody itself is relaxed, making it easier to sing than it might seem.

However, because the vocal range is wide and the melody is intricate, be sure to learn it thoroughly and adjust the key to suit your voice before singing.

ProPose, included on the 4th album Attitude and beloved by fans as a hidden gem from the Phase 1 era.

The complex feelings that make you lose sight of yourself when in love are something many people can relate to.

Since there are few parts that require projecting your voice and the range isn’t very wide overall, even those who struggle with the original key should find it easier to sing by adjusting to a suitable key.

However, be careful: if you don’t sing with a staccato feel in time with the beat, the melody can end up dragging.

Dance Hall Mrs. GREEN APPLE

A song by the Japanese rock band Mrs.

GREEN APPLE, included on their mini-album “Unity,” released on July 8, 2022.

It was released digitally in advance on May 24.

The track is used as the new theme song for Fuji TV’s morning information program “Mezamashi 8.” Motoki Omori, who serves as the vocalist for Mrs.

GREEN APPLE, is a singer whose appeal lies in a voice rich in high overtones for a male vocalist, and I think this song is also ideal for women with slightly boyish voices to sing.

The song features a slightly bouncing rhythm, so when you sing it, be careful not to lag behind or rush ahead of the backing track’s groove.
