Nostalgic Anime Songs: Memorable Anime Themes (101–110)
Ashita no JoeIsao Bito

Ashita no Joe is a boxing manga by Asao Takamori and Tetsuya Chiba that drew so much attention that an actual funeral was held when one of the characters, Tōru Rikiishi, died.
Isao Bitō sang the opening theme for the TV anime version.
Obake no Q-TaroSusumu Ishikawa

Obake no Q-Taro is a work by Fujiko Fujio that was serialized in Shogakukan magazines, including Weekly Shonen Sunday.
It is a gag manga depicting the misadventures caused by Q-Taro, a big-eating, clumsy ghost.
The theme song for the first TV anime series was sung by Susumu Ishikawa.
I’ll Be The OneH∧L

This is the opening theme song of “Hikaru no Go.” When I listen to this song, I find myself humming along.
It has a sense of power, but also a touch of sadness.
The vocals are distinctive, and the song really tugs at the heart.
The latter part of the anime is incredibly moving and will make you cry.
MOON PRIDEMomoiro Clover Z

This is the opening theme song of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal.
Personally, I don’t listen to many songs by female idol groups, but this one is different.
Or rather, I like Momoclo.
I love how they always give it their all.
You can feel that in this song too.
A Night for OnePorno Graffitti

This is the opening theme song of GTO.
When it comes to Porno Graffitti, people tend to think of Apollo or Agehachō, so this one is a bit less well-known, but as soon as you hear it you can tell it’s a Porno Graffitti song.
It has an upbeat rhythm and melody, and the lyrics are great too.
Nostalgic Anime Songs: Memorable Anime Themes (111–120)
Astro BoyKamitakada Boys Choir

One of Osamu Tezuka’s signature works, Astro Boy, was first adapted into a television anime in January 1963 and went on to run for a full four years.
The opening theme was an instrumental version up through episode 30, and from episode 31 onward it switched to a version sung by the Kamitakada Boys’ Choir.
TouchYoshimi Iwasaki

This is the opening theme song of Touch.
It’s a super famous song from Mitsuru Adachi’s baseball manga.
Performed by Yoshimi Iwasaki, whose strong vocals and upbeat tempo give it great impact.
The anime is also moving, so I highly recommend it.
It’ll make you cry.
