OctoberTHE BOOM

If you want to fully immerse yourself in sentimentality, I recommend THE BOOM’s “October.” It’s a simple, slow-tempo ballad.

With sparse instrumentation and a relaxed melody, it maintains a melancholy mood throughout.

There isn’t a dramatic swell or climax, yet somehow it tightens your heart in the best way—a true classic.

The lyrics, centered on saying goodbye, are a perfect match.

Be sure to pay attention to the trembling, emotive vocals as well.

16BOOSTERZTHE RAMPAGE

The undulating bass drop of “16BOOSTERZ” is addictive.

Released by THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, formed in 2014, this track is an aggressive killer tune with their signature danceable flair.

The piercing vocals of RIKU, Kazuma Kawamura, and Hokuto Yoshino mesh perfectly with the four-on-the-floor beat that goes “don, don, don, don.” It’s a top recommendation as an upper tune that makes you want to crank the subwoofer and hit the road!

10. Arand ~Laughter from Hell~THE STAND UP

Included on the 2006 album “REBEL TO MADNESS.” A four-piece rock band from Saitama Prefecture formed in 2001.

It’s a great track where powerful, shouted vocals ride over a rock sound grounded in uptempo, fast-driving drums and hard-edged guitars.

1974 (Visitor from 16 Light-Years) TM NETWORK

Released on July 21, 1984 as TM Network’s second single.

As many of you know, TM Network is the group that included the renowned producer Tetsuya Komuro, who would later go on to create a string of million-selling hits.

I think you can already sense a glimpse of his knack for memorable, catchy melodies in this early work, “1974.” When this song was released, I first heard it on a music TV program, and I still vividly remember how I was immediately captivated by its pop sound, laden with synthesizers.

909TRIBAL CHAIR

TRIBAL CHAIR is a post-hardcore band formed in Saitama that brought their activities to a close in 2012.

The vocals, delivered as if leaning forward to plead their case, the aggressive guitar riffs, and the drums that slam so hard they break through—these are irresistible for fans of loud music! They also pack in plenty of scream parts that spill out raw emotion, letting you entrust your own feelings to the music.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for an especially fast and ferocious band among screamo and post-hardcore acts!

2020TRICERATOPS

Their first single after moving to Victor, released in 2002.

Starting from a simple eight-beat and bass line, the track gradually expands and unfolds.

The instruments are blended with exquisite balance, letting you fully savor its alternative elements.

It’s a laid-back song, yet it makes you want to crank the volume and blast it.

Track’s is a three-piece rock band under THE NINTH APOLLO, a label that in recent years has produced many artists from genres beyond melodic hardcore.

With straight, melodic guitar riffs that scream “this is melodic core,” a driving beat forged by the drums and bass, and song structures that deftly balance tension and release, the band is packed with can’t-miss elements.

Above all, vocalist Yonosuke Ikuta’s husky singing voice irresistibly draws you in.
