YOASOBI 'Haruka' Official Music Video
Haruka YOASOBI

YOASOBI’s famous song “Haruka.” For female students living in the Reiwa era, this piece could be considered a staple graduation song.

True to YOASOBI’s style, it still features drastic pitch shifts, but since there are relatively few syllables set to the main melody, it can be considered easy to sing in terms of wordiness.

However, the vocal range is quite wide—from mid1 G to hi F#—and the highest notes are fairly high, so you need to sing with a clear focus on keeping the pitch accurate.

MISAMO「NEW LOOK」Music Video
NEW LOOKMISAMO

MISAMO is a unit that has gained popularity for their captivating looks and performances.

Formed around TWICE’s Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo, the unit enjoys immense popularity in Japan.

Their track “NEW LOOK” is their latest song.

While it has a stylish musicality, the vocal lines are surprisingly simple.

There’s a part in the chorus that leans slightly toward mixed voice, but since it doesn’t require much volume, it’s actually relatively easy to sing.

If you find it difficult, try lowering the key to adjust.

Team friend(s) Chiba Yuki

I think today’s middle school students are closer to hip-hop than any generation before them.

Among them, many middle school heads are probably listening to trap music, which leads the times.

What I recommend is Team Tomodachi.

This track is a hit number by Yuki Chiba, aka KOHH, that gained worldwide popularity.

It’s laid back in trap style, so the flow is very simple.

Even those not used to rapping should have no problem performing it.

AzaleaKenshi Yonezu53rank/position

Kenshi Yonezu is a nationally beloved singer-songwriter admired by a wide range of generations, from high school students to working adults.

He has many great songs, but the one I especially recommend for karaoke is his new track, Azalea.

It has an overall downbeat vibe, and accordingly the vocal line is kept calm and restrained.

The falsetto in the final chorus is the tricky part, so if you find it difficult, use that section as your benchmark and lower the key to adjust.

Ultra Supreme Ultra Tokimeki♡Publicity Club

An idol group that has gained popularity with a music style and aesthetic fully devoted to uniquely Japanese cuteness, Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu.

Because they are known as successors to Momoiro Clover Z and Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, I think any high school otaku well-versed in idol culture would know them.

Their song “Cho Saikyo” is a signature piece of theirs.

While it gives a pop impression, the vocal range is not that wide at mid2C to hiC♯, and the vocal lines don’t have abrupt pitch jumps, so it’s relatively easy.

Then, Macaroni Enpitsu

It’s a love song that beautifully captures fresh memories of youth and the aching pain of unrequited love.

Created by Macaroni Enpitsu, the piece portrays unreturned feelings and longing for someone from a warm, gentle perspective.

Its sweet, wistful vocals and melodious sound tenderly embrace the complexities of being in love.

Released in January 2025, it serves as the opening theme for the second cour of the TV anime Ao no Hako.

Seamlessly harmonizing with the anime’s worldview, it succeeds in expressing the vivid emotions of youth through music.

This heartwarming track resonates deeply not only with those currently in love but also with anyone who recalls a past romance.

Fortune Cookie in LoveAKB4856rank/position

Fortune Cookie in Love AKB48

Released on August 21, 2013 as AKB48’s 32nd major single.

The center position for the song was Rino Sashihara.

This is such a massive hit that anyone living in Japan has surely heard at least the chorus melody.

With an easy-to-sing, memorable hook and impactful lyrics, it’s crafted like the model example of an idol song—yet it never feels cheap, which is nothing short of “as expected!!!.” There’s no need to overthink singing this one (lol).

Sing it with your friends and have a blast.

Just be careful: if you push the groove too aggressively, you might break the song’s vibe.

It’s better to keep a broader, slightly laid-back feel—leaning toward a backbeat rather than rushing ahead.

And of course, don’t forget to copy the choreography!
