The things I kept for you, I never... Those Things I KeptSweet John

With the addition of female member Mandark to their predecessor band Natural Q Voice, this five-piece was formed in Tainan in 2016.
Their hallmark is the male–female twin vocals.
In 2018, their debut album “Dear” garnered recognition at Taiwan’s “Golden Melody Awards,” the local equivalent of the Grammys.
Some members draw influence from R&B and jazz, giving their music a chic, smooth sound that’s easy on the ears and evokes a variety of sonic scenes.
The technical side that underpins their whispery mood may reflect the intentions of guitarist Can Tou, a devoted fan of Ringo Sheena and Tokyo Jihen.
Highly recommended for listeners who enjoy city pop or laid-back tunes!

RouletteMasatoshi Mashima

Roulette, sung by Masatoshi “Mashi” Mashima—also known as the guitarist of The Cro-Magnons—appears as the 12th track on his first solo album, Natsu no Nukegara.
The harmonica that flows in from the intro evokes a sense of nostalgia.
By the way, the harmonica is played by folk singer Masato Tomobe.
The lyrics look back on days spent with friends, capturing not only fond memories but also bitter ones, making them feel real and achingly poignant.
No matter the era or the listener’s age, it’s a coming-of-age song that pierces the heart.
Look Back AgainHitomi Yaida

Commonly called Kamattē-chan, or SKC.
Despite its poppy melody, this song overflows with extreme lines about jumping in front of trains and livestreaming suicide.
The more you listen, the darker it feels—beyond pitch-black, you might say.
If you get the chance, be sure to watch the terrifying music video as well.
ROOTSMatsuri Nine.

Matsuri Nine.
, an entertainment group from Nagoya, is a very popular male idol group known as the junior unit of BOYS AND MEN.
The group consists of seven members, and in addition to their aggressive dance and vocals, their acrobatic performances are incredibly cool.
In 2019, they even held a concert at the Nippon Budokan.
Their festival-like, energetic vibe, powerful singing, and dance continued to captivate fans with a sense of mystique, but unfortunately, they disbanded in 2022.
Still, I believe the paths each member pursues from here—born from Matsuri Nine.
—will expand infinitely.
Rouge ButterflyJunko Akimoto

Junko Akimoto’s Rouge no Chouchou, which smolders with longing as the protagonist returns to her lover, was released by King Records on December 6, 2023.
Akimoto’s richly expressive vocals beautifully convey the aching feelings for a cherished person.
The song’s appeal lies in its delicate portrayal of a woman’s complex emotions—an unforbidden love, the transience of affection, and the yearning to be freed from restraint.
Composer Keisuke Hama and arranger Shinichiro Mizobuchi provide a sophisticated melodic line that further heightens these sentiments.
With its deep pathos and sensual worldview, this work is one we especially recommend to those spending a long night alone.
