Anime Songs That Feel Like Spring [Encounters & Farewells] (11–20)
HARUKAZESCANDAL

A pop-rock number that blends the fresh breeze of spring with a touch of wistfulness.
Released by SCANDAL in February 2012, it’s a coming-of-age message song.
Its memorable guitar riffs support lyrics that carefully weave feelings around springtime farewells and new departures, offering comfort through meetings and partings with loved ones.
It was also used as the opening theme for the final series of the anime BLEACH and reached No.
6 on the Oricon charts.
The track is included on the album “Queens are trumps – Kirifuda wa Queen.” Recommended not only for students, but for anyone stepping into a new environment or seeking solace during the season of goodbyes.
cherry blossoms drifting awayHikaru Utada

A song written by Hikaru Utada after her hiatus, released in 2012 as the theme for Evangelion: 3.
0 You Can (Not) Redo.
In a long life, new lives are born, and there are also painful farewells with loved ones.
This exquisite ballad overlays the cycle of human life—passing life on to a new generation—onto the image of falling cherry blossoms.
Feel You, Heal YouHealer Girls

Spring is the season of new beginnings, isn’t it? While it’s exciting, some people might find themselves worn out by an unfamiliar routine.
That’s why I’d like to recommend “Feel You, Heal You.” It’s the opening theme of the anime Healer Girl, which portrays people being saved through song.
The track is performed by HealerGirls, a unit formed by the voice actresses who appear in the show.
Its gentle, encouraging message will give you a refreshing boost when you listen.
SakurabitoSun Set Swish

This ballad sings of a fleeting farewell in the season of cherry blossoms and the hope of new encounters.
It’s a gem released by SunSet Swish in January 2010 and served as an ending theme for the anime BLEACH.
Set to an elegant arrangement of piano and strings, the song poignantly expresses memories that fade with the arrival of spring, and it is also included on the album Yūgure Maestro.
As the 21st anime tie-in for the series, it delves more deeply into themes such as partings amid battles and the bonds between comrades.
It’s a heartwarming track that keeps you company under the cherry trees, when the season makes you think of someone dear.
VirginiaHinano

Hinano, a new-generation artist who debuted at 15, has been drawing attention with her beautiful high-tone voice.
She worked on “Virginia” as the ending theme for the anime My Master Has No Tail.
The song is structured so that the first half quietly sings of spring scenery, then the tempo gradually quickens toward the latter half, and the chorus rides an exhilarating sound that expresses hope for the future.
As the pace steadily picks up, listeners will naturally feel their excitement rise.
PrologueYuka Iguchi

Yuka Iguchi has worked on a variety of projects as a voice actress and singer.
The piece she wrote specifically for the anime Bibliophile Princess is Prologue.
The word “prologue” refers to the beginning of a story.
The song captures the excitement of opening a new tale.
It feels perfect for spring, when new chapters like starting school or a job begin.
With its positive lyrics, it also seems like a good listen when you’re feeling anxious.
Find your own way to enjoy it.

After the Cherry Blossoms (all quartets lead to the ?)UNISON SQUARE GARDEN

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN’s song “Sakura no Ato (all quartets lead to the?)” by the three-piece rock band.
It’s a cherry blossom–themed track that was used as the theme song for the anime Yozakura Quartet.
What is it that we can understand after the cherry blossoms have fallen? The lyrics, which carry that message, teach us the importance of simply enjoying what we can do right now without overthinking it.
