Lament of the SunFlower

Mourning is a word that expresses grief and sorrow over a person’s death.
In this piece, the mourning song is read as “elegy.” The lyrics say that people have been alone ever since they were born, yet they also recount memories of loving others and the sorrow of losing them.
The moments when we recall an elegy that we are not permitted to remember happen because we never forget those who have passed away.
It’s a song that reminds us how important it is to spend time immersed in sadness.
The Sun and the SunflowerFlower

Flower, the female dance and vocal group that unfortunately disbanded in 2019.
Their song “Taiyo to Himawari” (The Sun and the Sunflower) is their fifth single, released in 2013, and the title alone evokes a feeling of summer.
Despite its bright, poppy, summer-like title, it’s a song that sings of a sad, heartrending, secret love that can’t be spoken of.
For anyone experiencing unrequited love or a love that can’t come true, it’s a bittersweet summer track that’s sure to tighten your chest.
DepartureGReeeeN

Speaking of GReeeeN, their lyrics with strong storytelling are really appealing.
This song, too, weaves a single, grand narrative.
It begins with love at first sight, but it’s about a boy who tries to see off a girl with a smile—hiding his sadness—as she leaves their hometown to chase her dreams.
March is a season of many farewells, like graduations and job transfers.
Some people may even be facing a goodbye with someone important.
This is a song that comforts the feeling of wanting to say, with a smile, “Do your best,” as you see them off.

TangoJAGATARA

JAGATARA was a Japanese band active in the 1980s, known for its diverse musicality spanning funk, rock, and punk.
They began performing in 1979 and drew attention with their 1982 album “Namban Torai.” Their intense, high-energy live performances were also unforgettable.
With the vocals of central member EDDO Akemi at the core, a variety of musicians took part in the group.
Sadly, EDDO Akemi passed away in 1988, and the band disbanded, but their innovative sound continues to be respected by many musicians and fans.
JAGATARA’s music, with its unique worldview that transcends genre boundaries, remains beloved across generations.
TigerJO1

JO1 is a boys group active across a wide range of fields, including Japanese variety and music shows.
Among their songs, the perfect track for a drinking party is “Tiger,” released in 2023.
It’s a dance tune with a tribal vibe, featuring a heavy yet danceable sound.
Since the song develops over an EDM-based beat, it’s great for showcasing dance during the lyric-less hook, or trying call-and-response or parody lyrics.
Pair their passionate yet cool performance with the track to really energize your gathering.
