Karaoke songs that are easy to sing, even for those who aren’t confident at singing, recommended for teenage girls

Recently, with the rise of high-voiced male vocalists, it’s become an even tougher world for tone-deaf women when it comes to singing.

In particular, women who can’t hit high notes are probably having quite a hard time.

Of course, vocal range matters, but even more important is whether you’re choosing the right key for yourself.

With that technical point in mind, this time I’ve selected easy-to-sing songs I’d recommend for teenage girls.

Song of the VoyageSanketsu Shoujo Sayuri

Sanketsu Shoujo Sayuri “Song of Voyage” MV (short ver.) TV anime “My Hero Academia” Season 4 Ending Theme / MY HERO ACADEMIA ED – About a Voyage
Voyage Song - Oxygen-Deprived Girl Sayuri

This is singer-songwriter Sayuri (Sanketsu Shoujo Sayuri)’s seventh single, released in November 2019.

It was used as the ending theme for the TV anime My Hero Academia.

The melody and vocal style are a bit distinctive, so some people who aren’t confident singers might hesitate to pick it for karaoke.

But the rhythm and tempo are very easy to groove to, so don’t be afraid—give it a try.

It’s fairly up-tempo, so even if you don’t sing it perfectly, people around you probably won’t notice much.

If you find the high notes tough, be sure to adjust the key.

BouquetMOMO SANA MINA

BouquetMOMO SANA MINA

TWICE is a hugely popular idol group in Japan as well.

“Bouquet” is a song performed by TWICE’s Japanese members—MOMO, SANA, and MINA—and it’s crafted as a classic, warm encouragement anthem.

Since it’s sung by a K-pop idol group, some people might feel it’s difficult, but that’s not the case.

It’s arranged as a traditionally Japanese-style pop song, making it easy to sing, and the falsetto parts are brief and not overly high, so I think teenage girls can sing it without any issues.

And that makes me happy.chay

chay “So Happy” (Short Ver.)
I'm happy with that, chay.

It was released in 2016 as chay’s eighth single.

The song was used as the theme for the Fuji TV Thursday drama “Is It True, Ms.

Hayako Is Getting Married?” and its lyrics sing about the importance of living true to yourself.

It’s a refreshing tune and easy to sing at karaoke.

sugarYuka

Singer-songwriter Yuka, who has a strong following among women in their teens and twenties.

She spent part of her childhood living abroad, and that background is reflected in her music—some songs even evoke a vibe close to Western pop.

Her track “sugar” is one such piece, characterized by a sound reminiscent of US rock from the 1990s.

While the song is bright, its slightly languid vocal lines make it relatively easy to sing.

Be sure to check it out.

Well, I mean, it's not really anything…NGT48

NGT48 9th Single “Well, You Know, It’s Not Like…” MUSIC VIDEO
You know, well, it's not like... NGT48

Among the groups produced by Yasushi Akimoto, the one with the most momentum right now is NGT48.

They’re a group that stands out with a classic AKB-style musicality and character.

Among NGT48’s songs, the one I especially recommend is “You Know, Well, Not Really…”.

Its extremely catchy vocal lines are striking, and I think every section—verse, pre-chorus, and chorus—is easy to sing.

If the chorus feels a bit high for you, try dropping the key by just one step; it should make it much easier to sing, so give it a try.

wishasmi

wishasmi

Asmi is a female singer-songwriter with a softly cute musical style that evokes aiko—she’s especially popular among women in their late teens.

Among her works, the song I particularly recommend is “wish.” It’s a Christmas song, but unlike others, it has a calm, understated atmosphere.

Because of that, there are few parts that require falsetto, making it very easy for beginners to sing.

There’s a touch of falsetto in the chorus, but if it feels hard to sing, try lowering the key by one semitone.

What would you do, if it were you?Mao Abe

Mao Abe — What Would You Do, If It Were You [Doushimasuka, Anatanara] (Official Music Video)
What would you do, if you were Mao Abe?

Abe Mao’s 18th single overall, released in August 2019.

It’s a very straightforward rock song that makes you feel refreshed when you listen to it.

The melody is very simple with no difficult progressions, so even those who aren’t confident singers should be fine singing it at karaoke! However, while you might not feel it’s that high because of her vocal timbre, the highest note in the chorus can be tough for some people, so please be a bit careful with the key setting at karaoke.

That said, I think the best way to enjoy this song is to forget the nitty-gritty and just go with the groove!

In conclusion

How was our selection of songs that even people who aren’t confident singers might find easy to sing? We picked tracks by artists familiar to teens, focusing on songs with relatively straightforward melodies and rhythms and not-too-wide vocal ranges.
