smokeSaucy Dog

Saucy Dog is a rock band immensely popular among men and women in their teens and twenties.
When you think of Saucy Dog, their high vocals stand out, so many teenage boys may have assumed from the start that aiming for a high score with their songs wasn’t realistic.
That’s why we recommend “Kemuri” (Smoke).
Among Saucy Dog’s tracks, it sits on the lower end of the vocal range, and the vocal lines emphasize sustained notes, so there aren’t any complex pitch jumps.
Within their catalog, it’s a song that makes it particularly easy to aim for a high score, so be sure to check it out.
Bedroom WarfareONE OK ROCK

“Bedroom Warfare,” included on the 8th album Ambitions—which made history on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart as the first time both the domestic and international editions entered the top five simultaneously—is a striking track featuring emotionally airy vocals and a powerful ensemble.
With no large melodic leaps and a lower risk of going off-pitch, it’s easy to sing even for those not used to karaoke.
However, because the overall range is quite wide, try to be mindful of the parts where you should hold back rather than constantly belting, and give it a go.
Heading to OverOLDCODEX

This song, with lyrics that convey straightforward feelings and an energetic, fast-paced sound, is by the music unit OLDCODEX, formed in 2009.
It was released in 2018 as their 16th single.
The melody is straightforward and simple, so it’s easy to sing.

RobinsonSpitz

The 11th single by the four-piece rock band Spitz.
It’s the band’s biggest hit, and since its release it has been featured in numerous tie-ins like TV dramas and commercials, making it a song widely known across generations.
The straightforward singing style without unnecessary techniques makes it easy to sing, and because it’s so famous, it’s sure to get the crowd going at karaoke.
However, the melody feels like it keeps climbing higher and higher, so you’ll need to pace yourself to make it through the chorus.
If you’re worried, it’s a good idea to practice before heading to karaoke with friends.
Week EndGen Hoshino

It’s a song by Gen Hoshino that seems to capture the excitement of the weekend.
One of its big attractions is the strongly felt elements of Black music and its danceable sound that gently sways the body.
The lyrics also depict enjoying the scenery of a beautiful town, so when you sing it, I recommend conveying a clear sense of fun.
Another key feature is the thick choral backing, so it’s important to hold onto the main melody firmly without getting thrown off by the chorus.
A bouquet for boring daysLUCKY TAPES

Kai Takahashi’s solo project, LUCKY TAPES.
In the early days, their sound often mixed rock and J-pop, but recently the R&B side has grown stronger, and they’ve been releasing many stylish tracks.
Among them, the one I especially recommend is “Bouquet for Boring Days.” While it’s categorized as J-pop, it carries an R&B-like groove in places.
That said, the rhythm isn’t difficult, and it doesn’t feature the advanced vocal techniques common in R&B, such as melisma.
The vocal range is also very narrow, making it a song that should be easy for teenage male singers to perform.
REACHING FOR THE SKYMAN WITH A MISSION

MAN WITH A MISSION is a rock band that continues to attract fans with their sharp sound.
They’re a mid-career rock band, but since they’re still active on the front lines, many teenage boys are probably familiar with them.
Among their songs, the one I particularly recommend is REACHING FOR THE SKY.
Although it features an exhilarating melody, it surprisingly has a narrow vocal range; aside from the sustained long note at the end of the chorus, there aren’t even any mid-to-high notes.
The vocal line works fine even when sung roughly, making it a perfect pick for teenage boys whose voices may still be unstable.
