Cool trap and future bass. Recommended bass music.
Trap and future bass are closely intertwined.
Tracing their lineage leads to hip-hop and dubstep.
Originally recognized as subgenres, trap and future bass rapidly evolved by actively incorporating elements of trending EDM.
In recent years, these genres have increasingly crossed over, with their sonic details being adopted in mainstream dance-pop as well.
This time, we’ll introduce popular and classic tracks from bass music, including trap and future bass!
Cool Trap & Future Bass. Recommended Bass Music (1–10)
Rushing Back feat. Vera BlueFlume

Rushing Back feat.
Vera Blue stands out with a track that highlights Vera Blue’s translucent vocals.
The sections she sings have the familiar feel of American electropop, but the interlude features a uniquely crafted melody.
Mumbai Power (feat. Beam)Skrillex

Skrillex’s popular track “Mumbai Power (feat.
Beam)” is known worldwide.
The beginning of the song follows an orthodox trap and dubstep (brostep) style, but midway it shifts to a melody with an Asian flavor.
Rather than a cool, edgy sound, it’s more of a party tune.
BOPDababy

This is “Bop on Broadway” by DaBaby, a rapper from North Carolina.
It makes you feel like you’re walking through the tense, fearsome streets of New York! Throughout the track, there’s a melody separate from the vocals that uses a Mellotron-like sound.
The Mellotron is an instrument released in the ’60s, basically the original sampler.
Even tones considered old can sound fresh depending on how you use them.
SouthSideDJ Snake, Eptic

SouthSide makes an immediate impact right from the intro.
It’s a great pick for fans of hard-hitting trap and dubstep.
Since it’s a pretty chaotic track, I’d recommend it more as a party tune than background music.
There’s a key change in the middle, which really keeps things engaging.
Night Call (feat. Lil Yachty & Migos)Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki, a leading figure in the EDM scene—this is his 2017 track “Night Call.” The collaboration with rappers Lil Yachty and Migos drew a lot of attention.
It’s a slow-tempo trap track whose languid drum beat sets the mood.
Lil Yachty and Migos deliver smooth, addictive flows that glide effortlessly over the beat.
It’s a song that makes you want to head out for a night on the town.
CASH COWNGHTMRE & Gunna

The collaboration song “CASH COW” by rapper Gunna and DJ Nightmare.
A cash cow is like what we call “a money tree” in Japan—something that keeps bringing in cash like a cow that gives money.
With that striking title, a slow, dark trap beat, and laid-back, composed rhymes, it’s a quintessentially Gunna track: supremely dope and grown.
FormulaRL Grime & Juelz

For those who aren’t familiar with it, the trap and dubstep genre can feel intimidating.
In reality, though, it’s easy-to-listen-to EDM that emphasizes deep bass, so I recommend it.
“Formula” is a fairly orthodox piece, making it a good recommendation for listeners who aren’t used to trap and dubstep.
