Birthday/Birth Celebration: A Special Feature on Vocaloid Birthday Songs

No matter how old you are, birthdays always make your heart race, don’t they?

You might be wondering what present you’ll get from your parents, buying yourself something you love as a reward, or even feeling nervous that your friends might spring a surprise on you.

In this article, we’re doing a big feature on Vocaloid birthday songs!

There are two types of “Vocaloid birthday songs”: songs that are birthday songs in the literal sense, and songs that celebrate the birthdays of Vocaloid characters.

We’ve compiled both types together, so take a look and find the ones you like!

Vocaloid Birthday Celebration Songs (31–40)

On my birthday, I’m treated gently by peperoncino.Sunfish P is dead behind the house

A lovely message song sent to “you,” who has to work on your birthday… but the premise is quite mysterious.

Created by the sibling music unit ‘Ie no Ura de Manbo ga Shinderu P,’ the track was released in 2011.

I say the premise is mysterious because the song is told from the perspective of a type of pasta dish: peperoncino.

But it’s not just a gag song.

It features a driving guitar rock sound and lyrics and melodies that tug at the heartstrings.

By the time you reach the end, you’ll be completely drawn into the world of Ie no Ura de Manbo ga Shinderu P.

Happy happy birthdayhigh_note

It’s a medium-tempo, poppy, and upbeat birthday song.

Hatsune Miku’s singing voice, together with the overall vibe, is adorable.

KAITO only appears as an illustration and doesn’t sing, but the softly drawn interactions between the two are heartwarming.

Shiny Star White Hedgehog

It’s an electronica piece that begins with shimmering tones.

Created by Vocaloid producer Shiroharinezumi and released in 2016.

Inspired by an illustration drawn by Masanao Kagura, Mos* wrote the lyrics, and then Shiroharinezumi composed the music—this is how the work came together.

The floating, airy feel of the melody is lovely.

The lyrics express how precious the presence of “you” is—like a shining star.

Surely you have someone like that, too.

Play this song on their birthday.

The rhythm is lively and it feels great to listen to! This piece by Doryu, who is also active as a saxophonist, was released in 2009.

It’s a birthday song addressed to a friend who’s always been close.

The lyrics say, “I’m far away, so this is all I can do…” But really, it’s the best present, isn’t it? It reminds us of how important friends are.

The tumbling piano tones are delightfully cheerful, conjuring an image like looking at vivid illustrations.

Congratulations, thank you. zyun

Kagamine Rin and Len Append are singing a birthday song on their own birthday.

It says, “Nineteen tiles inspired by Hall of Fame Rin/Len songs appear in the video.

Try guessing which song each one represents.” Nice touch of playfulness.

This song was produced to commemorate the 7th anniversary of Hatsune Miku’s debut.

Created by Mitchie M—also known for “FREELY TOMORROW” and “Viva Happy”—it was released in 2012.

As the title suggests, it’s a message song to Hatsune Miku, sung by Vocaloid characters MEIKO, KAITO, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Megurine Luka.

You can really feel how much they love Miku.

It’s a cute, touching Vocaloid track that might even bring a few tears.

Happy birthdayKeiyan

[Hatsune Miku] Happy Birthday [Original Song]
Happy birthday, Keiyan!

This is a birthday song created to commemorate the 7th anniversary of Hatsune Miku’s release.

It’s a work by the Vocalo-P Keiyan, published in 2014.

The warm piano accompaniment is lovely.

The lyrics express feelings of “Happy Birthday, and thank you for singing my song” to Hatsune Miku.

It might be an emotion shared by anyone who uses VOCALOID.

Perhaps because the words are unadorned, the creator’s feelings come across directly.
