[Heart-wrenching] Vocaloid breakup songs. Classic painful love tracks (111–120)

2-Chome Blues: What Are You to Me, Anyway?Machigerita-P

This is a piece by Machigerita-P, sung by KAITO.

In it, KAITO plays the mama of a drag bar, waiting at the bar for the return of a customer he loves—a story-driven work.

With a horn section whose tones soar pleasantly, the song beautifully evokes a sophisticated, nocturnal atmosphere.

Tower of Rubblekemu

Tower of Rubble – kemu feat. GUMI
Tower of Rubble kemu

Kemu is a Vocaloid producer well-known for providing songs to numerous voice actors and idols, and for representative tracks like “Six Trillion Years and Overnight Story.” Among his works, the song that most closely accompanies the loneliness of heartbreak is “Tower of Rubble.” The crystal-clear vocals of GUMI and the beautiful synth sound are a perfect match.

Its story-like lyrics, set against a scene of farewell, are full of charm.

It’s a pure love song that portrays the heartache of leaving someone dear.

Why not listen to a Vocaloid track that can give you the push to move toward new days?

SAYONARATiara

[Hatsune Miku] SAYONARA [Original MV]
Goodbye, Tiara

This is a collaboration song by Tiara and illustrator AO, posted in 2014.

The delicate melodic lines feel pleasant.

The PV featuring AO’s illustrations is also beautiful, giving the whole piece a stylish vibe.

The sparkling sound is wonderful as well.

The Third WinterRerere-P

[Kagamine Len V4X] The Third Winter [Vocal Demo]
The Third Winter, Rerere-P

A song by Lelele-P, sung by Len.

Three years of student life—long yet short.

In the winter of the third year, right as it’s ending, the boy comes to know his own selfishness.

Lelele-P often has Len sing about various kinds of boys, but among those, this song feels especially imbued with a life-sized, aching poignancy.

Setsuna CycleYUI

It’s a youthful heartbreak song.

Even though it’s a breakup song, you can’t help thinking, “Ah, I wish I’d had a love like that,” probably because it features students.

It sings of regret over those words that I just couldn’t bring myself to say.

The video was released in 2013.

Haruna. “18.5 years old” feat. Hatsune Miku
18.5-year-old Haruna.

The song Haruna, a Vocaloid Producer, released as a Project Sekai NEXT submission is “18.

5 Years Old.” In this work, it portrays a woman, seemingly a student, recalling the man she loves.

It appears that while the woman and man were close, they never actually started dating.

That bittersweet situation is heart-wrenching.

Additionally, the adult-evoking items and title that appear in the song, as well as the music video, convey an atmosphere of a child growing into an adult.

Sweet LiesAzari

If you’ve experienced a sad, painful farewell with someone precious, this will surely resonate.

It’s a track by the enigmatic Vocaloid producer Azari, known for shadowy works like “Shadow Shadow” and “Who?”, released in March 2023.

The piano’s beautiful, fragile timbre and Utaai Yuki’s childlike voice are striking.

Rather than polished vocal work, it feels as if the words are naturally spilling out.

The sounds are gentle—so why does it hurt so much?
