Rock Me Like The DevilCRUCIFIED BARBARA
This is Crucified Barbara, an all-girl metal band formed in 1998 in Stockholm, Sweden.
They’re a one-of-a-kind girls’ band where elements of hard rock and metal crossover.
Their husky, aggressive vocals are the band’s signature, and despite their beautiful looks, their sound is unexpectedly low and heavy.
Their hard-playing style has even earned them the nickname “the female Motörhead.” They also have songs with strong melodies, offering a wide range of expression, so be sure to explore their music!
Chili TownHinds
From Madrid, Spain, Hinds is one of the most exciting acts among contemporary girls’ rock bands.
Originating as a duo formed by the members in 2013, they expanded to the current four-piece the following year and officially launched as HINDS.
In 2016, they released their debut album, Leave Me Alone.
They quickly drew attention in Japan as well, with their shows selling out.
As you can hear on their debut track Bamboo, they pair a youthful, DIY lo-fi sound with a sparkling melodic sensibility, and after grueling tours, their abilities as a band have improved dramatically.
They are a young band to watch, with high expectations for even greater success ahead.
Sports!Dream Wife
A rising young British girls’ band with a punkish yet pop sound, formed by three members who met at art school.
From their early days, they’ve embodied a DIY spirit—handling everything themselves from live bookings to promotion and management—and they’ve drawn major attention by proactively delivering clear, outspoken messages as women.
Their first Japan appearance at Summer Sonic 2018 is still fresh in our memories, where they delivered an excellent, youth-charged performance.
One of their greatest strengths is the ability to craft songs that fearlessly pack in catchy, pop melodies while maintaining the stylishness characteristic of an art project.

Green EyedSeptember Girls
A five-piece from Dublin, Ireland, they stand out from straight-ahead rock with psychedelic soundscapes and a gothic atmosphere.
Though their career was brief—from their formation in 2011 to their breakup in 2016—the impact they left on the indie scene was significant, thanks in part to their striking looks, and they carved out a unique position among girl bands that emerged in the 2010s.
If you listen to their two albums and EPs released in 2014 and 2016, you can fully savor their distinctive blend of ’60s-style garage sounds, dreamy melodies, and noise-tinged guitars.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a slightly unconventional girl band!
The StepsHaim
The finest trio born under the California sun! Raised in a true musical family that formed a classic rock cover band and performed together from childhood, they later debuted as the trio Haim.
They topped the BBC Sound of 2013, an annual poll spotlighting promising new artists, and their 2013 debut album, Days Are Gone, was a hit—No.
1 on the UK chart and No.
6 on the US chart.
Their ability to distill a wide range of influences—rootsy genres like country and blues, punchy hard rock, and polished ’90s R&B—through a modern sensibility is truly remarkable.

Bedroom EyesDum Dum Girls
Since around the late 2000s, a wave of girl bands began to emerge that, while rooted in a lo‑fi, garage-leaning sound and influenced by British music like shoegaze and neo-acoustic, also incorporated oldies-style melodies and chord progressions.
Dum Dum Girls, which began as Dee Dee’s solo project, were precisely such a band.
On their classic second album, Only in Dreams, released in 2011, they unfolded a dreamy sonic world that could be said to represent a pinnacle of that style.

Edge Of A Broken HeartVixen
This is Vixen, the American four-piece girls’ band famed as the female version of Bon Jovi.
