A collection of Western songs with titles that start with numbers

In this article, I’ll be introducing classic Western songs whose titles begin with numbers.

When it comes to number-starting titles, some consist of numbers only, while others have words following the numbers.

If you’re knowledgeable about Western music, you might already have a few songs in mind.

That said, we don’t often search for songs by categories like “titles that start with XX,” so this could be a great chance to discover wonderful tracks you didn’t know before.

Take this opportunity to listen to a variety of songs!

2 GermansLUCIANO x GZUZ

Luciano, a German rapper from Berlin of African descent who is becoming mainstream in today’s hip-hop scene, is already a highly popular artist in his home country.

He’s known for hard-hitting sounds influenced by trap and drill, and his distinctive voice and flow really stick with you.

His track “2 Germans,” released in October 2023, features rapid-fire rapping and an urgent beat—definitely the kind of song that’ll blow up on TikTok—and it’s already generating major buzz.

Even if you usually listen mostly to American rap and aren’t very familiar with European hip-hop, this is one you should definitely check out.

1:18Lemaitre

Metre is an electropop duo from Norway.

Formed in Oslo in 2010 by Ulrik and Ketil, they began their activities by releasing their first EP, The Friendly Sound.

A track from that EP, 1:18, was featured in a 2013 iPhone 5c commercial, bringing them wider attention.

The band name is said to be derived from Georges Lemaître, the Belgian Catholic priest and astronomer regarded as the proposer of the Big Bang theory.

They signed with Astralwerks in 2014 and are currently based in Los Angeles.

Their sound features laid-back rock beats and dreamy, pop-leaning electronic textures, evoking a soft electronica sensibility.

Lizzo, the American singer whose 2022 release “About Damn Time” became a massive hit as a feel-good dance number, is widely known for that image.

Perhaps surprisingly, another song she released the same year, “Be Loved (Am I Ready),” tends to be overlooked, but it’s a top recommendation for anyone with a partner they’re thinking about marrying.

The lyrics—like telling yourself, “I’m ready to be loved, right? You’ll understand, I must be worthy of love…”—are striking, and might just give a push to those who are on the fence about getting married around this time.

It’s a song that emphasizes a sense of melancholy and heartache, widely listened to around the world as a massive hit.

Sitting between R&B and pop, it has a grand, karaoke-friendly atmosphere, and because the melodic range is relatively narrow, it’s easy to sing well even for men who aren’t confident in their pitch.

Highly recommended as a karaoke number.
