Karaoke Songs Easy to Sing Recommended for Men in Their 50s (161–170)
Final Chapter (Epilogue)CHAGE and ASKA

CHAGE & ASKA’s classic song, “Final Chapter (Epilogue).” This piece was composed by CHAGE.
Compared to ASKA’s compositions, CHAGE’s tend to be more catchy, featuring singable vocal lines.
In this song, the vocal line is lyrically expressive and filled with poignancy, yet the overall structure is very simple.
There aren’t dramatic leaps in pitch, and the range isn’t particularly wide, making it an easy song to sing.
Give it a try.
Teens BluesShinji Harada

Singer-songwriter Shinji Harada, who was hugely active during the New Music boom.
If you’re a man in your 50s, you probably grew up listening to his songs, right? Among Harada’s tracks, the one I especially recommend is Teens Blues.
This piece is characterized by a delicate blend of pop and rock—a style later seen in artists like Quruli and Kenji Ozawa.
While the vocal line in this song has somewhat pronounced rises and falls in pitch, the tempo itself is slow, so it’s surprisingly easy to sing.
Wild BoyEigo Kawashima

Many men in their 50s likely have children, and some may have sons who are about to reach adulthood.
For those fathers, we highly recommend Nokozou.
This song ruggedly sings about what a father wants to do with his son when he turns 20, making it a perfect track to color the father–son relationship.
The vocal line leans heavily into enka and kayōkyoku influences, so it’s overall straightforward.
The chorus sits in the mid-to-high range; if that part feels difficult, try lowering the key by one semitone.
In the Sun and the DustCHAGE and ASKA

The 26th single “In the Sun and Dust,” which has multiple tie-ins including the commercial song for Nissin Foods’ Cup Noodles Red Zone, was created with the image of a youth anthem, featuring a dramatic melody and lyrics that leave a strong impression.
The melody itself is simple and easy to remember, but since the key gradually rises toward the chorus, be mindful of dynamics and pacing.
While there are points to watch out for, the tempo is relaxed, making it a number that should be relatively easy to try at karaoke.
loverMasayuki Suzuki

Another recommendation is “Koibito” (“Lover”), which is getting attention again right now.
It was released in 1993 as a lead single from the album “Perfume.” The song had long been loved by many, but after it was performed on THE FIRST TAKE in 2020, it became popular with an even wider range of generations.
The song expresses pure love for a romantic partner.
It’s a classic love ballad, so learning it will likely be useful in many ways.
The whisper-voice sections are especially appealing, so try focusing your practice there!
In the Middle of a DreamTakao Kisugi

Takao Kisugi is a singer-songwriter who also flourished as a composer.
He has created numerous masterpieces, and among them, the one I especially recommend is Yume no Tochu.
While grounded in Showa-era kayōkyoku, this song blends in elements of adult contemporary, resulting in a distinctive style.
It’s not old-fashioned, but the vocal lines that evoke the Showa vibe make it very easy to sing, so I highly recommend it.
Consider adding it to your repertoire.
You are freeCHAGE and ASKA

Re-cut from the 16th album “RED HILL” and used as the commercial song for Asahi Soft Drinks’ “J.
O.”, the 33rd single “You are free” features an emotional blend of 1990s R&B and 14 Karat Soul’s choral work.
With many repeated patterns and melodies that move on the same pitch, and a relatively narrow vocal range, it should be easy to memorize and sing.
However, since the tempo is quite relaxed, be mindful of the beat so you don’t fall out of rhythm.
