The music known as “grime” is said to have its roots in UK garage and 2-step—styles of house music—while incorporating elements like rap and reggae, and it became a popular genre in the UK during the 2000s.

It’s incorrect to call it a subgenre of hip-hop; while there are similarities, there are also key differences.

A track by Aphex Twin, an electronic musician from Ireland.

It is included on his fifth album, Drukqs, released in 2001.

The album sold 11,476 copies in its first week after release and reached No.

22 on the UK charts.

Ellesse WarriorDJ Shitmat feat Devvo

Shitmat is a DJ with a career spanning over 25 years, who has performed around the world—including at festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival, and Boomtown—and is signed to the same label as The Prodigy.

This track is a collaboration with MC Devvo and was released in 2005.

Drain Mode = OnThe Flashbulb

Benn Lee Jordan is an American jazz and electronic musician who has been active since 1993 under many names, including The Flashbulb, Acidwolf, and Human Action.

Under The Flashbulb moniker, his work is characterized by a sound style that makes extensive use of drill ’n’ bass and breakcore.

This track was released in 2001 as the Stop-Gap EP.

Szamár MadárVenetian Snares

A track by Canadian breakcore artist Aaron Funk, who has been active under the name Venetian Snares since 1992.

It is included on the album “Rossz Csillag Alatt Született,” released in 2005.

The album was inspired by his trip to Hungary.
