Tsuchiura City, located in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, is known as a production area for lotus root.
To promote lotus root, the JA Tsuchiura Lotus Root Headquarters created the song “Smile and Good Evening, Lotus Root,” performed by Miho Tomioka, a singer known for singing various campaign songs.
Inashiki City Takara OndoSeiko Narumi

Inashiki Takara Ondo is a civic dance song of Inashiki City, located in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, and it was released in 2010.
The composer is Chiaki Oka, who is also active as an enka singer, and the lyricist is Reiji Mizuki.
This video is from when it was performed at the 10th Inashiki City Cultural Festival.
Itako BoatmanMaki Sato

Itako City is known as a water town, and visitors can enjoy sightseeing on pleasure boats.
Like “Itako Yobune,” this song is also about a boatman; the original was by the Mahina Stars, but the video is a cover version.
The lyrics were written by Shizuo Furukawa, and the music was composed by Masanobu Toguchi.

This is the city song of Yūki, located in western Ibaraki Prefecture.
It was established in 1984 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the city’s incorporation.
The lyrics were written by Kazue Shinkawa, a poet from the area, and the music was composed by Saburō Iwakawa.

It is the city song of Mito, the capital of Ibaraki Prefecture, established in 1959 to mark the 70th anniversary of the city’s incorporation.
The lyrics were written by Saijō Yaso, who composed many popular songs and school anthems, and the music was composed by Yuji Koseki.

His distinctive deep, husky voice really stands out.
Ninjō Toride-jukuKiyoshi Hikawa

It’s an enka song in the matabi (wandering gambler) style set in Toride City in southern Ibaraki Prefecture.
It is sung by Kiyoshi Hikawa and was included on his 2004 album “Kiyoshi Hikawa: Enka Meikyoku Collection 4 – Banba no Chūtarō.” The lyrics were written by Yoshio Matsui, and the music was composed by Hideo Mizumori.
