Advance! Sutten Sukk!Yuichiro Hanada, Atsuko Ono

The May 2020 “Song of the Month,” “Susume! Suttenssukku!” It’s a song that portrays “Suttenssukku,” who keeps moving forward no matter if there are mountains or walls in the way.
Failure is proof that you tried.
It’s far cooler to take on a challenge and fail than to do nothing out of fear of failing.
It’s a song that gives courage to children who are about to experience many things.
I hope they’ll try anything, just like in this song.
The melody has a cool vibe, but it’s also easy for women to sing.
Chonmage MarchIchiro Mizuki

It’s the song that goes, “If I had a chonmage topknot, I’d end sentences with ‘gozaru’ and call my dad ‘chichi-ue.
’” It has been passed down and sung by successive generations of the “Singing Big Brothers” since the time of Ichiro Mizuki, the second “Singing Big Brother.” As an aside, the nickname “Aniki” for Ichiro Mizuki is said to come from his role as the “Big Brother” on Okaasan to Issho.
Shoki-shoki-chonDaisuke Yokoyama / Takumi Mitani

This is the Moon’s summer song for July and August 2012, with lyrics by Kazumi Nikaido and music by Shuta Hasunuma.
The tune features a lively rhythm and lyrics that evoke the feel of a Bon Odori dance.
Many children probably don’t like having their hair cut, right? But once they try it, they might end up liking it—or even making a few requests about how it’s done.
The song captures that kind of adorable childlike feeling, and the catchy lyrics and dance-inducing rhythm make it irresistible.
Be sure to listen and sing along!

This “Jukkies Under Construction!” feels like it was made for boys who love working vehicles.
If he’s a boy, he’ll definitely want to listen to this song over and over, won’t he? Lots of different heavy machines appear throughout the song, so kids can learn the names of the equipment along the way!
