Introducing popular J-pop songs that start with “Ta”!

Introducing songs starting with 'Ta' from popular J-POP! (191–200)
Time machine40mP

This song depicts a farewell scene.
The days we spent together have become the past, and we cannot take them into the future.
Because “our precious memories belong to the past,” remembering the past is like riding in a time machine.
This song is dedicated to everyone living between the past and the future.
I hope that listening to it will inspire you to make the decision to move forward.
Taisho Romantic40mP

As the title suggests, this is a track that lets you study the Taisho era.
It’s a song by 40mP, a Vocaloid producer who has been active on the front lines of the Vocaloid scene for many years, released in 2017.
It’s included in the textbook with CD and video, “MUSIC STUDY PROJECT: Learning Junior High School History with Vocaloid.” The pop sound has a somewhat retro vibe—so lovely.
The sound alone is soothing.
The lyrics tell a love story set in the Taisho era, making for a heart-fluttering finish.
Let’s follow the story while learning about history.
Turning UpARASHI

Of course, perfectly copying it is quite difficult.
But it’s easy to incorporate parts of the dance.
In fact, I feel the choreography is designed so anyone can dance it.
In particular, the dance made up only of upper-body movements on the airplane seems perfect for SNS dance covers and “I tried dancing” videos—it’s probably already trending.
I think the quick steps before the chorus will take a lot of practice to master.
But it looks cool, and it feels great when you can do it, so give it a try! The catchy phrases are very satisfying to listen to and make great background music, too.
TarirariraAWAYOKUBA

AWAYOKUBA is a four-piece funk band from Osaka and a highly skilled group that won the Grand Prix at FM802’s “MUSIC CHALLENGE 2009” in 2010.
Their sound, which makes you want to start dancing, is performed in an orthodox funk style, yet it also carries the heat and power of punks.
In 2011, they released their first album, “AWAYOKUBA,” and went on to perform at Fuji Rock and RUSH BALL.
Unfortunately, the band disbanded in 2012 after their keyboardist Ando left, but if you want to feel some fiery funk, they’re a band you should definitely check out!

Turn Up The SpeakersAfrojack

It makes you want to clap along and dance like crazy to the beat! It’s an EDM tune produced by Afrojack and Martin Garrix, released in 2014.
Just the fact that it’s a collaboration by two world-renowned artists tells you it’s no miss.
The bass that pushes against your eardrums feels so good.
You’d want to have a playlist filled with this kind of electric music made to make the subwoofers rumble, right?
twilightBEGIN

A track released for streaming on New Year’s Day 2021.
It’s a soothing song whose spaciousness evokes majestic nature and the gentle atmosphere so characteristic of BEGIN.
It stirs up feelings of nostalgia and longing for home, as if rising with the sunset.
Higa’s vocals, radiating warmth and compassion, are deeply moving and seem to smooth the rough edges of everyday life.
It leaves you with the comforting sense of having returned to your hometown.
Killed by the SunBUCK-TICK

When you’re feeling down or sad, some people may want to listen to songs with even more heartrending themes.
In that case, I’d like to introduce “Taiyou ni Korosareta.” This is a track released in 1991 by the visual kei rock band BUCK-TICK.
It begins with an intro that samples the sound of bells, resulting in an unsettling melody.
The lyrics sing of despair and sorrow in life.
However, in the latter half, the tempo gradually picks up and the vocals grow more powerful.
Consider what meaning might be embedded in that shift.
