Introducing popular J-pop songs that start with “Ta”!

Have you heard of shiritori karaoke, where you connect songs by using the last letter of the previous song’s title? Surprisingly, it can get pretty exciting—sometimes you can’t think of any songs, or there aren’t as many singable ones as you expect.

So this time, I’ll introduce a bunch of Japanese songs that start with “ta.” I’ve picked popular J-POP tracks so you can use them both for karaoke and for playing shiritori using only song titles.

Please use this as a reference, and if there’s a song you’d like to try singing, go for it!

Introducing songs starting with “Ta” from popular J-POP! (301–310)

TerminalNatori

Natori, a singer-songwriter who enjoys immense support from young people.

Lately he’s also been active as a music producer, providing songs for many artists.

Among his tracks, the one I especially recommend for teenage boys as an easy song to sing is Terminal.

This piece features a downer mood similar to Overdose and keeps a calm vocal line with a narrow range throughout.

If you want to make it sound even better, mix in some breath and aim to produce your voice with added overtones.

Time View ~The Endless Road~ Naniwa Danshi

A song I’d like you to give to a senior who’s setting off toward the future is “TimeView ~The Road That Goes On Forever~” by Naniwa Danshi.

It portrays the path they’ve walked as idols and sings of the deep bonds among the members.

Their warm choral work unfolds over a gentle yet powerful melody.

The lyrics include memorable lines that bring back days of working hard together at school or the office.

Why not send the gratitude that’s hard to say out loud through this straightforward message song?

’ It debuted at No.

Hajime Syacho, a YouTuber who enjoys overwhelming support not only from elementary schoolers but also from the younger generation, sings “Tabidachi no Hi ni,” a well-known choral piece.

Many people probably sang it in music class—it’s a song that brings on a bittersweet feeling.

However, the video itself is full of humor, so be sure to watch it closely.

Treasure Pokota

This is a version of vocalist Pokota’s first single sung by GUMI, released in 2013.

It’s about a couple that’s been together for two years; even if they fight or have times when they can’t see each other, the male-perspective lyrics that say “I’m always thinking of you” are totally heart-melting.

The grandeur and sparkle of the sound are wonderful, too.

Rather than listening alone, it might be better to listen together if you have a partner—you might be reminded of how important they are to you.

It’s exactly the kind of song you want when graduation season fills you with anxiety and anticipation—so you can imagine yourself enjoying life down the road.
