Introducing popular J-pop songs that start with “Ta”!

Have you heard of shiritori karaoke, where you connect songs by using the last letter of the previous song’s title? Surprisingly, it can get pretty exciting—sometimes you can’t think of any songs, or there aren’t as many singable ones as you expect.

So this time, I’ll introduce a bunch of Japanese songs that start with “ta.” I’ve picked popular J-POP tracks so you can use them both for karaoke and for playing shiritori using only song titles.

Please use this as a reference, and if there’s a song you’d like to try singing, go for it!

Aina the End – Takaramono [Official Music Video] (Theme song for TBS Sunday Theater 'Goodbye Maestro: My Father and My Appassionato')
Treasured One Aina the End

Aina The End, known for her distinctive husky voice, delivers a mid-tempo ballad that truly showcases her essence in her latest track.

Chosen as the theme song for the drama “Sayonara Maestro: My Father and My Appassionato,” the piece perfectly pairs her warm vocals with a simple accompaniment.

The lyrics, which weave together gratitude and farewell, convey the importance of bonds with irreplaceable people and the growth that comes from those experiences.

It’s a song not only for BiSH fans but also for those supporting Aina’s solo career.

Try singing it while thinking of someone dear to you and soaking in her unique atmosphere.

The glitched vocal part and the sound keep saturating… I’m captivated by the depth of the sound.

The track is by Haniwa from the American Folk Song Study Group and was released in June 2023.

The overall tone is very soft, but perhaps because of the many overlapping layers, it feels as if a vast current of emotion flows beneath it.

Pay attention to the development in the latter half of the song that grows out of a vocals-only phrase.

Time machineAlice Nine.

A song by the visual kei rock band Alice Nine, formed in 2004.

Included on their debut single “Namae wa, Mada Nahi,” it’s a track that leaves an impression with its airy guitar sound riding on a driving drum beat and a bass line that plays the root notes on the high frets.

Another highlight is how the B section and chorus switch to a half-time feel, creating a contrast with the brisk A section that makes the chorus stand out.

Blending both floating and fast-paced sensations, it’s a must-check track for fans of visual kei bands.

Tahione-six

Tahi / Hatsune Miku – Ichiroku (Tahi / ichiroku feat. Hatsune Miku)
Tahiichiroku

It’s a mixture rock tune that kicks off with a hard guitar riff! The track is by Vocaloid producer Ichiroku and was released in June 2023.

It was submitted for the Vocarock posting festival.

Hatsune Miku’s razor-sharp vocals pair perfectly with the powerful sound.

The lyrics’ message—“Acknowledge your true self”—is seriously moving.

The dynamic development in the big chorus gives you chills.

It’s the perfect Vocaloid song for moments when you want to get fired up and ignite your heart, like right before an important match!
