When it comes to indispensable classics of the early Vocaloid scene, “Karakuri Pierrot” is a must.
Created in 2011 by 40mP, a Vocaloid producer with numerous signature tracks, it’s beloved by Vocaloid fans across generations.
Some listeners who were in their 30s at the time of its release may remember hearing it then.
Its poignant yet beautiful melody, carried by a jazzy piano arrangement, is truly moving.
Hatsune Miku’s vocals, tinged with a certain ennui, make the song all the more stirring.

Solar System DiscoNayutan

Songs that put you in a good mood are great no matter when you listen to them.
The reason I get so hyped when I listen to “Solar System Disco” isn’t just because it has the word “disco” in it.
The lively sound and the witty, rhyming lyrics are absolutely fantastic.
I can't become an adult.Aliey:S

This is an up-tempo track that carries a bittersweet, melancholic message.
It’s a song by Aliey:S, released in March 2025.
No matter how much time passes, there are things you can’t forget—the lyrics, infused with the ache of parting, really hit home.
As I listen, the faces of friends I no longer see come to mind.
I especially recommend it to those who can relate to the fluctuating emotions of adolescence, or who are searching for their own sense of self.
Heart Sutra PopOnyu-P

Here is a healing song that lets you accumulate virtue: “Heart Sutra Pop.” It’s a bold piece in which Miku sings the Heart Sutra, and it sparked a boom mainly on Nico Nico Douga.
It’s fascinating how the lyrics blend seamlessly with the futuristic sound without feeling out of place.
For some reason, it’s soothing and helps you relax.
Hymn to SplurgingAdeliae

This piece offers a biting, satirical snapshot of consumer behavior in modern society.
Released in April 2025 by Vocaloid producer Adeliae, the track pairs a rhythmic sound with Kasane Teto’s distinctive vocals to excellent effect.
The lyrics project anger and resignation toward one’s own habit of spending money, capturing raw emotions that are hard not to relate to.
It’s a world that’s earnest yet never loses its sense of humor—be sure to experience it for yourself.
PolarisProject Lumina

An irresistible, heartwarming ballad with a dramatic sound.
This 11th release from Project Lumina came out in December 2024 and was part of “VOCAParty! ~Year-End Party 2024~.” Hoshikai’s clear, transparent vocals gently embrace the poetic, beautiful lyrics.
The words of a precious person—likened to the North Star that serves as a guiding light in navigation—and the protagonist’s faith in them shine through, making you feel illuminated as well.
It’s a moving song to listen to when you need the courage to face forward.
