Recommended Western Music for Autumn: Popular Autumn Songs and Hidden Gems [2025] (91–100)
Beforeniki

NIKI’s 2022 release “Before” is a pleasantly languid, world-weary number.
I especially like how the chorus begins with the line, “Autumn in Carolina.
It’s been a year since I met you,” and flows into, “It was also a year for us to part and for a girl to grow up.” The lyrics are so poetic.
Since the word “autumn” appears at the very start of the chorus multiple times, it naturally evokes vivid autumn scenery in your mind.
Tiger Striped SkyRoo Panes

The British singer-songwriter Roo Panes creates organic, richly textured music that pairs beautifully with the natural resonance of string bows.
The guitar slips effortlessly into your ears, and his warm vocals and gorgeous choral work seem to soothe the fatigue of daily life.
It’s truly a supremely chill track, perfect for savoring during the cool days of autumn.
September MornNeil Diamond

Autumn is when the heat begins to ease and it becomes a comfortable season to spend time in, isn’t it? I imagine many people love that gentle climate.
With that in mind, I’d like to introduce “September Morn.” This song is by singer-songwriter Neil Diamond.
Released in 1979, it became established throughout the 1980s as a classic autumn tune.
Its lyrics portray a man who, on an autumn morning, feels the wonder of life.
Why not listen to it and soak in the calm climate of autumn yourself?
What Would I Want? SkyAnimal Collective

A track from the 2009 EP ‘Fall Be Kind’ by Animal Collective, who are based in New York, USA.
It samples ‘Unbroken Chain’ from the Grateful Dead’s 1974 album ‘From the Mars Hotel.
‘
SeptemberThe Shins

The Shins are an American indie rock band active since 1996.
This track is included on their fourth album, Port of Morrow, released in 2012.
The album was a hit around the world and reached No.
1 on the U.
S.
charts.
Dead Leaves and Dirty GroundThe White Stripes

The White Stripes—a male-female duo consisting of a guitarist/vocalist and a drummer, the smallest lineup for a rock band—were a driving force behind the early-2000s garage rock boom.
Beyond their extraordinary musical talent, their artwork, infused with a strict aesthetic, was also remarkable, and they achieved not only commercial success but also received many prestigious music awards.
Here, I’d like to introduce “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground,” from their landmark 2001 release White Blood Cells, the album that helped boost their profile.
With its raw guitar and dynamic drums, the track is incredibly cool.
The title’s “Dead Leaves” literally suggests an autumn vibe, but the lyrics—seemingly straightforward yet open to various interpretations—carry a mysterious quality typical of vocalist Jack White.
The music video, directed by the filmmaker Michel Gondry, is also suggestive and layered in meaning.
In other words, it isn’t actually a song with autumn as its direct theme, yet it’s invariably cited by overseas music sites as an “autumn song.”
Autumn’s Not That ColdLorrie Morgan

It’s the season when the gentle autumn breeze blows pleasantly through.
Featured on Lorrie Morgan’s April 1991 album “Something in Red,” this song is a true classic that gives voice to the feelings of autumn.
It overlays the delicate emotions of a woman trying to overcome the pain of heartbreak with the beauty of autumn scenery.
Morgan’s richly expressive vocals resonate deeply with listeners.
Its universally relatable lyrics transcend the boundaries of country music.
It’s a track you’ll want to listen to slowly by the window at autumn dusk.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel the autumn wind in their heart.
