A collection of Western songs with titles that start with numbers

In this article, I’ll be introducing classic Western songs whose titles begin with numbers.

When it comes to number-starting titles, some consist of numbers only, while others have words following the numbers.

If you’re knowledgeable about Western music, you might already have a few songs in mind.

That said, we don’t often search for songs by categories like “titles that start with XX,” so this could be a great chance to discover wonderful tracks you didn’t know before.

Take this opportunity to listen to a variety of songs!

Global Communication is the techno unit of Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard.

Their track “14:31” takes its title directly from its duration—14 minutes and 31 seconds.

The reason, they say, is to avoid giving listeners any preconceptions, encouraging them to interpret the music freely according to their own imagination.

It begins with a quiet, clock-like sound and gradually draws you into its mysterious world, featuring a richly layered, immersive sound.

Incidentally, the album that includes this track, “76:14,” follows the same concept: not only the album title but the titles of all the tracks are simply their respective lengths.

1-2-3Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan is an American singer-songwriter known for her airy vocals.

Although she was born in Cuba, unlike other singers with similar backgrounds, she pursued a pop-oriented sound rather than Latin music.

One of her signature songs is 1-2-3.

Rooted in the dance-pop and pop-rock trends of the time, it became a major hit thanks to its catchy “one, two, three” hook.

1,000 HoursGreen Day

The title track of the 1989 EP “1,000 Hours.” A three-piece punk band from California formed in 1986.

Their debut EP, released under the name “Sweet Children,” came before they transformed into a globally renowned rock band.

After releasing this EP, they changed their name to “Green Day.” The EP was later included in the compilation “1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.”

2,000 Light Years AwayGreen Day

A track by the American punk rock band Green Day.

The lead vocalist, Billie Joe Armstrong, wrote it for his then-girlfriend and now wife, Adrienne Nesser.

It is included on the 1991 album Kerplunk.

Yet another amazing rock band, Green Day.

Among the many classics from a group that always stays on the cutting edge, I dare to choose this song.

They constantly wish for peace and keep speaking about it, and I think everything about them—not just their appearance—is incredibly cool.

4 In The MorningGwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani, a singer from the American ska-punk band No Doubt, is also active in many fields, including running her own fashion brand.

Among her songs, the one we recommend for morning listening is 2007’s “4 In The Morning.” Its hip-hop-style track paired with a dazzling melodic line leaves a strong impression.

Her singing, which shows a colorful range of expression, is also a highlight.

On mornings when you’re feeling “a bit off,” why not try listening to this comforting pop tune?

100HEVISAURUS

If you watch this music video without any prior information, you might be shocked.

It’s a Finnish dinosaur metal band for children, wearing dinosaur costumes.

It’s wonderful that the Nordic countries have an environment where bands like this can operate normally.

This song was released in 2019 and is included on their eighth album, “Bändikouluun!”.

It’s aimed at kids, but the sound is the real deal, backed by solid musicianship, and the guest list is star-studded.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for something a bit different in metal.
