Romantic RailwayJR Kyushu

JR Kyushu Company Song 'Romance Railway'
Romantic Railway JR Kyushu

Accompanied by video footage said to depict JR Kyushu’s past, present, and future, the company song “Roman Tetsudō” (Romance Railway) conveys the journey of a company that has continued to walk alongside the railway.

From steam locomotives to limited express trains, conventional lines, and the Shinkansen, the images excite even those who aren’t railway enthusiasts.

Trains race on, carrying people’s feelings—toward the sea and mountains, from the city to the countryside.

It’s a corporate song full of romance that reflects the company’s stance of running along a single track toward the future, carrying hope.

Yamaha Motor Company SongYamaha Motor

"Yamaha Motor Company Song" Hiroko Taniyama with lyrics
Yamaha Motor Company Song Yamaha Motor

True to expectations, this company song, which opens with the sound of a piano, was composed by Hiroko Taniyama.

The lyrics were apparently written by an employee.

I couldn’t quite imagine what a company song composed by Hiroko Taniyama would be like, but once I listened to it, it made perfect sense.

Since Taniyama was also active in Yamaha’s Popcon, perhaps that connection led to this commission.

Incidentally, I’ve heard the honorarium for composing this piece was a single 50cc motorbike, which is amusing in its own way.

Smiles' Door Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance

Meiji Yasuda Life’s corporate song that leaves a strong impression—alongside commercial tunes by Kazumasa Oda—is “Egao no Tobira,” sung by Maki Ohguro.

The lyrics carefully express the feeling that life is full of encounters and heartbreaking farewells, and that’s precisely why we should cherish each day—something that really moves you.

Even in sad times, take a step forward and face ahead: Maki Ohguro’s husky, powerful voice amplifies that message.

It’s a company song that gently embraces the idea that, even in sorrow, life always has glimmers of hope somewhere.

Feelings reach.FP Corporation

Corporate Song Grand Prix 2025: At the top of Nikkei’s Corporate Song Contest 2025 is FP Corporation with “Feelings Will Reach.”
Feelings reach. FP Corporation

Omoi wa Todoku (Our Feelings Will Reach You), the company song by FP Corporation that won the Grand Prize at the 2025 NIKKEI Company Song Contest.

As a company engaged in the manufacturing and sales of food packaging, its message—“Bringing color to Japanese cuisine”—resonates deeply.

In the music video, where 1,300 employees sing in unison, you can practically picture every department—product development, manufacturing, logistics, sales, marketing, procurement, and even recycling—coming together with passion to tackle their work.

It’s a heartwarming company song that conveys the corporate philosophy of “wanting to make society better.”

Heart to HeartLawson Group

Heart to Heart, a pop-rock tune that’s so characteristic of Tomoyasu Hotei, was created in 2011 when the Lawson Group surpassed 10,000 stores in Japan, embodying the hope of “energizing Japan from the Lawson Group.” Its melody makes everyone want to sing together with a smile, and the uplifting guitar riff is unforgettable.

It’s a catchy classic that conveys a positive message of people and towns connecting—and the energy that springs from those connections!

Door to the UniverseDENSO Corporation

DENSO Company Song, composed by Joe Hisaishi: “Door to the Universe”
Door to Space, DENSO Corporation

Door to Space was created in 1994 to commemorate the 45th anniversary of DENSO Corporation, an automotive parts manufacturer.

Composed by Joe Hisaishi and sung by Azumi Inoue—familiar from My Neighbor Totoro and Castle in the Sky—the song gives a distinctly fresh, poppy Showa kayō impression.

Its piercingly positive message evokes a sense of hope, as the world expands from cars to space.

It’s a gently nostalgic, kind song that quietly lifts your spirits.

Spot Story ~Chapter 1~Spot Sharo-shi-kun Certified Social Insurance and Labor Consultant Corporation

Spot Sharo-shi-kun is a company that connects business owners with certified social and labor consultants (shakai hoken rōmushi) who guide them toward solutions for their many challenges, and its services embody a strong desire to help as many owners as possible.

The song “spot story ~Chapter 1~” powerfully appeals to the fact that this is a service that understands the heart of management.

It portrays the company’s perspective on the history of how it grew to its current size, while also expressing the desire to support that journey.

The buoyant rhythm and sound, layered with bright vocals, convey a positive feeling of wanting to make companies even better.
