Kiss MeSixpence None The Richer

Sixpence None the Richer is known as a representative band in the genre heavily influenced by Christian rock.

Active from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s, they gained popularity in countries where Christianity is mainstream, due in part to their genre.

Their song “Kiss Me” is a hidden gem that enjoys strong popularity among fans.

While it doesn’t explicitly center on spring, it seems to have a certain level of recognition overseas as a song associated with the season.

The Cardigans are a band from Sweden.

They’re known for their cute vocals and an acoustic sound that evokes 1960s rock.

Their success is even said to have influenced today’s Swedish pop.

The hidden gem by these women that I’d like to introduce is Lovefool.

It’s a hit song, but since it’s not very well known in Japan, I decided to feature it.

Pay attention to its stylish, springlike sound!

The Doors, the legendary rock band fronted by the world-renowned rock vocalist Jim Morrison, had a career that was surprisingly short—less than ten years—but they left behind numerous classic songs.

“Waiting for the Sun” is one of their masterpieces.

Its uniquely crafted atmosphere and melody made it a fan favorite.

It might just be the perfect hidden gem with a spring-like feel.

Be sure to give it a listen.

George Winston, a pianist from the United States, is a renowned artist celebrated as an outstanding composer with numerous hit songs.

He is also a hitmaker whose works have been used across various media, including the “This Week’s Events” segment of NNN Sunday Evening Edition, a commercial song for the Hakone Open-Air Museum, and the “New Top 3 ___ Investigation” segment on Matsuko & Ariyoshi’s Angry New Party.

Among his lesser-known gems, “Spring Creek” is highly regarded for its soothing, spring-evoking melody that leaves a lasting impression.

Melt The SnowVirginia Astley

Virginia Astley is a singer-songwriter who was active from the 1980s to the 1990s.

While her international profile isn’t particularly high, she enjoys a certain level of popularity in Asia, especially in Japan.

That said, she’s a fairly minor artist, so many people may not know her.

Her song “Melt The Snow” is regarded as one of her hidden gems.

Although it might seem like a winter song, its lyrics evoke the spring that follows, so overseas it’s often known as a song that conjures up the feeling of spring.

Spring In Central ParkDave Brubeck

This is a masterful performance that captures the breath of spring arriving in an urban oasis through graceful piano melodies.

It’s a gem of an instrumental piece crafted by American heavyweight Dave Brubeck in 1964 for the television program “Mr.

Broadway,” and included on the album “Jazz Impressions of New York.” The seamless interplay with alto saxophone virtuoso Paul Desmond is wonderfully satisfying, vividly conjuring scenes of lush parks blending into the cityscape of New York.

The footsteps of people strolling through dappled sunlight and the calm atmosphere wrapped in fresh greenery are beautifully expressed through delicate touch and rhythmic playing.

Please enjoy this piece as a soothing companion for a tranquil afternoon.

AprilDeep Purple

Deep Purple, the legendary rock band from England.

Alongside Led Zeppelin, they are giants of hard rock and have had a major influence on bands around the world.

You might wonder, “Do they even have any hidden gems?” As a matter of fact, they do! Their track April is known among fans as one of their underrated masterpieces.

As the title suggests, it’s themed around spring and has earned high praise.

Be sure to give it a listen.
