Karaoke songs that make it easy to score 100 points [for men]

“I want to score a perfect 100 at karaoke!” Many people probably have that kind of dream or desire to take on the challenge, right? I also often hear concerns like, “I just can’t seem to get a high score.” But don’t worry! In fact, simply being strategic about song selection and what to focus on can boost your score! This time, I’ll introduce songs that tend to be easier to score highly on in karaoke.

Many of my students have said their scores went up as they continued vocal training, so please use the song breakdowns as a reference!

Karaoke Songs That Make It Easy to Score 100 Points [For Men] (71–80)

If I sing to the sky175R

This is the second major-label single by the Japanese punk rock band 175R, released in April 2003.

Incidentally, 175R made their first appearance on the 54th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen on New Year’s Eve that year with this song.

It’s a straightforward rock tune in the best possible way, both rhythmically and melodically, so I think it’s a good one for anyone to aim for a perfect 100 at karaoke.

To shoot for 100, be careful not to lose the timing at the break where the vocals come in right after the intro, study the slightly rolled Rs in the singer’s pronunciation, and note that the vocal melody actually spans a wider range than you might expect—so if you’re not confident with high notes, adjust the key accordingly.

The delivery is fast and almost like a rapid-fire monologue, so it might be wise to plan your breathing spots in advance as well.

SEKAI NO OWARI at the highest point

This is SEKAI NO OWARI’s sixth digital-only single, released in September 2023.

It was reportedly created as the opening theme for the TV anime One Piece.

The vocal melody doesn’t span a very wide range, and the melody itself is relatively simple, so in that sense it’s very easy to sing—making it one of the best choices when you want to aim for a perfect 100 in karaoke.

I think the most important point for a high score is to feel the rhythm and beat of the backing track and to be very mindful of the rests within the melody and use them effectively.

Keep that in mind when you sing.

Blue BenchSasuke

This is the first single by Sasuke, a male acoustic duo consisting of Yuji Okuyama and Yuta Kitashimizu, released in October 2003.

It’s a lovely, heartwarming song that paints vivid scenes just by listening.

The acoustic guitar sound that runs throughout the track feels very pleasant.

The vocal melody is friendly and easy to hum along to, and it doesn’t seem to require particularly advanced singing technique to perform at karaoke, so I recommend choosing it when you want to aim for a perfect score.

Just be careful with the brief high note that appears at the end of the chorus and the key change that raises the pitch in the final chorus.

Future is Yours Sambomaster

This is the 23rd single by the three-piece rock band Sambomaster, released in August 2023.

It was selected as the theme song for the Toho-distributed animated film “New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan THE MOVIE: Battle of Supernatural Powers ~Fly, Fly, Hand-rolled Sushi~.” Since their debut in 2004, Sambomaster has been popular for their straightforwardly simple songs and slightly comical image, and their charm remains as strong today as it was back then.

That appeal is fully present in this track we’re introducing here.

As you’d expect from their songs, the vocal part is very simple and easy to sing; as long as you’re careful not to fall behind the rhythm, many people should be able to score high—maybe even a perfect 100—at karaoke.

That said, given that the band’s basic philosophy is to record vocals in a single take, it’s probably best not to worry about scores and just have fun!

My true self, Sambomaster

Sambomaster, one of Japan’s leading three-piece rock bands.

Their song “Jibun Jishin” (Myself) is recommended as a track that’s easy to score a perfect 100 on.

Although it starts with a slightly quirky rap-style intro, the rest is very simple.

Sambomaster often features sudden jumps in pitch, but in this song the A, B, and C sections and the chorus are all kept within the low-mid to mid vocal range, making it easier to aim for a perfect score even if high notes are difficult for you.

Give it a try!

Recently, hip-hop has been spreading in Japan as a mainstream genre.

Among the Japanese hip-hop scene, the artist who has had a particularly big impact on trap music is KOHH.

He has many hit songs, but among them I recommend the track Team Tomodachi, released under his real name, Yuki Chiba, as a song that’s easy to score a perfect 100 on.

This work showcases his signature laid-back vibe throughout.

Since it doesn’t use any complex flows, it’s a track that even those not used to rapping can easily aim for a perfect score with.

"The Voice of the Sea" Full ver. / Urashima Taro (Kenta Kiritani) [Official]
Kenta Kiritani, “Umi no Koe” (The Voice of the Sea)

The classic song Umi no Koe, sung by Kenta Kiritani, became popular as a commercial jingle.

Inspired by the folktale of Urashima Taro, it’s notable for its gentle sanshin melody and delicate vocal line.

It’s also a song that’s relatively easy to score a perfect 100 on.

The reason is the simplicity of the vocal line: there are virtually no difficult developments, and the range is quite narrow, making it ideal for aiming at a perfect score.

If anything, be careful with the pre-chorus (the B-melody) right before the hook, as it’s easy to go off pitch there.
