Hailing from Australia, Hiatus Kaiyote are a top-tier jam band known for their unique brand of soul music often described as future soul.
In addition to the excellence of the two albums they had released as of 2020, they are renowned for their overwhelming live performances; their set at Fuji Rock 2019 in Japan, for example, is still talked about.
At the core of the band is Nai Palm, the sole woman in the group, whose powerful individuality shines as both vocalist and guitarist.

War EternalArch Enemy

Arch Enemy, a leading name in Scandinavian melodic death metal with worldwide recognition and a massive following here in Japan, initially featured a male vocalist.
In 2000, Angela Gossow joined as the band’s second vocalist, and from then on they became well-known for having a female vocalist capable of delivering ferocious death growls.
In 2014, Angela unfortunately retired, but Alissa White-Gluz—who had garnered attention as the vocalist of THE AGONIST—made a dramatic entrance as her successor.
Like Angela, Alissa commands a vicious death voice, but she also possesses a beautiful soprano tone, which she now showcases when guesting with other bands.
White Fire AlarmCity of the Weak

A hard, pop-tinged, high-energy number from City of the Weak.
While the band shows influences from various genres, this track feels like a superb culmination where those elements have been further refined.

The drum phrasing is especially cool and totally captivating.

Released as a single in 2017, it’s a track packed with hooks that stick with you: from the heavy, double-kick-driven intro into a verse backed only by piano and vocals, to the tastefully placed odd time signatures.
Amid the muscular rock sound, the vocals stand out with a uniquely feminine allure and delicacy that sets them apart from male-fronted rock bands.
If you’re looking for music with female vocals, this is a track you should definitely check out.
ClarityVales

A band with a female vocalist who screams while retaining a sense of speed and her vocal timbre.
Despite the velocity, none of the heaviness is lost, and it’s a rare band distinguished by its unique sense of harmony.
The melody and chords intertwine, matching extremely well with the vocalist’s screams.
Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)Eurythmics

Eurythmics, the legendary duo who churned out hit songs in the 1980s and enjoyed worldwide popularity.
